Anyone know if Abraham vs Ward is scheduled for the same date?

If so, then I cannot imagine Haye fighting anyone particularly big if it does happen. Showtime will have their schedule full - so it will obviously be a name that is not tempting to US TV.

Thus far the Super 6 have not had a particularly good undercard, usually for the reason the US TV covers one fight from one arena, and the other main event from the other - end of telecast. Of course the obvious exception was Marquez vs Lopez headlining the Johnson vs Green bout, but then that was kind of hardest fight to sell.

How will Hayemaker split things with the super 6 promoters?

The other semi will not be on the same date. I don't remember when I read it would be, but it was definitely on a separate date.

In the last 12-18 months Haye's profile has sky-rocketed into the mainstream. He will sell out O2 on his own a piece of piss. The tickets for the Ruiz fight at MEN sold out really quickly, especially anything £100 or below.

This is the major obstacle to this, Super 6 will surely want their tournament to be a main event in its own right, not an undercard to someone elses card?

If Haye can work this so he ends up on Showtime then I think its a massive win for him in regards to any future negation's with the Klits. But he needs to make sure he puts a show on against a respectable HW name to endear himself to the American fan/public. Would definitely try to get tickets if its the case, but who would headline? With ameriican and english ppv money this could be a great money spinner for both parties.

It's actually 23k, and is the joint biggest in the country. It used to be the joint biggest in Europe as well.
It's actually around 16k maximum.

The cats out of the bag in regard of David Haye. He will need a credible opponent to sell himself next time.

And yet he is making noises about Mormeck

"Warren added that he expected the 20,000 venue in Greenwich to be full on the night"

"This stunning 20,000 capacity venue"

Maybe you're right with regard to boxing but it would conflict with every attendance report I read regarding Haye vs Maccarinelli. If by homework you mean find out who you are, I knew already. But have never seen anything backing up your numbers?

Haye sells out/very nearly sells out the MEN by himself, and they are both only getting bigger, how could the 02 be big enough for both of them?

only when he does 2 $ 1 deals does he sell out the men
As I've said already, he only became big with the general public after Valuev.

Feel sorry for Froch. He has fought top draw opponents in his last half dozen fights at least. He's entertaining and a good lad.

Haye has the talent and charisma and does next to nothing with it. He's been disappointing in his reign and his retirement talk is frustrating. He's actually managed to make the klits a bit more likeable. I don't think casual boxing fans are so naive that they'd turn up en masse to see him fight another easy payday.

I'm no cheapskate by any means but about £200 a ticket is the limit that I would spend and the view you get for that in a football stadium is not great. My experience of this was when Calzaghe fought Kessler and I was not very near the ring at all and the view was poor.

I think the O2 Arena is a great venue and would definitely buy a ticket if the event was held there.

Looks like Povetkin has split from Atlas, does this make a fight with Haye possible? Should the club now be called the AAP club? - as opposed to the OAP club should he fight Mormeck next (thank you, thank you)

Lennox alone wasn't enough to attract the punters, they looked at Botha and thought 'nah, don't think so'. Haye vs Anybody just won't work. London's a pig of a market.
It was close to full by main event time. The undercard was belting but it was one of those shows where the people who only went to "be seen" turned up for the main event alone. I had a bunch of them take their seats in front of me during the interval between rounds 1 and 2 and then slope off 50 seconds later complaining about a "waste of money", despite it being a 14-fight show featuring Wlad Klitschko, Clinton Woods, Scott Harrison, Tom Johnson and more.

You need to tell AEG then, as they registered it as a 23,000 capacity venue for fire regulations. Perhaps you and a call centre know more about the building than the company that actually owns it?

You have just answered your own question! A 23k capacity 'venue' maybe. Its is NOT a 23k capacity Arena, the Arena which, as you should know, is inside the O2 Venue which also includes many other facilities such as restuarants, Indigo, multi-cinemas, a club, bars etc etc. 23k inside the WHOLE of the Dome for fire reg's. Watch and Learn, Watch and Learn!

Maybe you need to read?

I have pasted in my initial response and highlighted the pertinent part for you in fetching pink.

I will help you. I found the "One Two Three, Away" series of books featuring Roger Red Hat and Billy Blue Hat helped me a lot in nursery.

I look forward to the first ever BC apology commited to text, so that I can hang it on my mantlepiece next to Lord Lucan's Cummerbund.

Respectfully yours

Make sure you don't drop those straws you are clutching when you backtrack!

Are you now saying that if Froch and Haye boxed on the same bill the cinemas at the 02 would be full too as a direct result?

You know what you were taking about - specifically how many people the Arena would hold for a fight. The seating arangements at Bella Pasta are hardly relevant to the fight are they.

You state it's the "joint biggest arena in the UK" - Joint with who? The MEN is the biggest Arena in the UK or, if your backtracked theory, is to be believed then the Millennium stadium beats them all?

In fact going by your theory the Excel Centre has a far bigger capacity than all of them as a VENUE.

You say tomato, I'll say tomato but the fact is the O2 Arena holds just under 15k for boxing, the MEN holds 19,800 and the Excel has the capability of 20k for Boxing if needed. Te Millennium Stadium holds 80k + with the roof closed.

Anything else you wish to know just ask!

Taken from the official O2 Areana Website:

The O2 arena

Up to 20,000 capacity... no limit on pleasure

So i would say 15 or 16k is a good shout for a boxing maximum attendance. Don't forget they will screen of the stage area with a curtain, and up to 20k probably includes thiose that stand for concerts. Also for boxing a large part of the floor area is taking up obviously by the stage and press area.

I think some of you boys have been using wiki a bit too much, which is not always accurate.

So I was in fact right, it's a 20k venue, not 23k. I win. The fact that it might hold less for boxing is neither here nor there. I win. hahaha. That's how babyish this thread has become.
