Bad idea if you ask me,ive always got the impression that murray wanted to become a world champion and success was more important than the money but by facing khan he'll get a good payday but also abit of a whipping i think!

No disrespect to Watson, but things like this are coming up more and more frequently now, and I don't like it.

Okay, so Rees has got an opporunity to fight for the EBU title.... why strip him of the British title. He only just won the damn thing.

Stu this might be due to another tv date becoming available if mccloskey fights for world title! I am speculating here! I doubt he got stripped he might have vacated or both migh for euro title!

yes I doubt he was stripped too, he was probably encouraged by his promoter to give up the british so he could take a TV date for the euro and his promoter could fill another tv date with a fight for the british title, such is the way of boxing these days, sort of like when cleverly gave up the commonwealth so bellew could fight for and keep the title in the stable whilst providing a title fight for tv

If I'm honest , I think Watson would have won a rematch. Rees throws a hell of a lot of shots & john would be prepared for the return. John,s one of the best I've boxed , & if your fit enough Rees can be beaten. He ain't got much power by the way!just very very busy

Has anybody heard any whispers on who Watson will be fighting for the vacant British title?

Just been looking through the rankings and there doesn't seem to be much chance of a decent match up. The best available (depending on what shape he's in) seem to be Buckland. I think that would be a great match up if it could be made.

If it is Watson v Crolla that'll be a great match up; both are class acts, tough and fit. I'd just pick John; Crolla is an educated pressure boxer but Rees is on a different level RE intensity. It will be a great fight though.
