Frans Botha was the third sub.Baboon wrote:"Reminds me a bit of Murray vs Renda" says Adam Smith.....you've got to be sh1tting me. Excellent Sky cheerleading there boss......
Rubbish.
Congrats to Dickinson though, would've been a travesty if Couzens won that. Coming in fresh to fight a boy that's 6 rounds in. Surprised the BBBC go for that....

Fair play to travis - its about last man standing and bearing in mind most on here had davies to beat him the fact he won, fair play.
One in the eye for the north east.
Oh, and he would have beaten dodson

Justin Jones and Sam Couzens are too very unremarkable boxers.
Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
Shame for Doddo. Thought they'd let him continue considering the circumstances.
Happy Dickinson won because it would have been scandalous for Couzens to go home with £32k.
Would have had Dodson beating Dickinson in the final. Dickinson is too slow for my liking.

Congratulations to Dickinson anyway, I'd see like to see him in a 4 rounder with Meany Edwards next.

X2 Indeed it would Jai, and I hate the idea of these reserves.jBacca wrote:Happy Dickinson won because it would have been scandalous for Couzens to go home with £32k.

Saying all that, Congratulations to Dickinson, he deserved it. And the best man won in the end.
Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
Dodson can be proud of his achievements tonight.

my thoughts:
it is unfair, the situation with the subs, and the level of the subs, but seriously now, what is the alternative? Morris goes out, sub comes in or Slate - who lost - comes in for a fight that according to the judges he lost to Morris... or do you wait to see who the 'best' loser is out of the four fights? i.e the one that loses closest on points, say?
as for the level of the subs - why not make it 10 fighters, and at the draw, the last two names out of the hat are the subs... so 8 fight as per, but all 10 are on the same level... the only drawback to this of course is that you could potentially end up with a high-profile name as sub...
Slate didnt lose that fight IMO, he took every round close for me... but there you go.
Smyth-Edwards should have been allowed to go on, it was a see-saw affair. I'd pay to watch Smyth again, for sure.
Dickinson - Bellew (assuming Tony gets past Oville) and the winner takes on Dodson... I think thats fair... winner of all that looks at McIntosh I guess, if he still holds his belt...

Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
Standard of that was really poor. Essentially only two fighters that Sky would even consider putting on one of their shows. One of those had lost 2 straight at British title level and the other was a novice.
Prizefighter has to be less frequent and higher quality names, or there is just no point.
Don't agree with a journeyman Prizefighter either - essentially that is more about being a benefit to old pros and little about entertainment for the fans.
