PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
Dodson getting £8k and Couzens getting the £16k is an absolute joke.
Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
Subs should be treated as if they started the tourney in the fight they are in... so if they come in at the semis and lose, they get what the losing quarter finalists got, same if they come in for and lose the final... if they come in at semis and win the whole lot, then they should get 16k IMO, maybe the same if they only fight the final and win but it makes a mockery of it to say that someone who wasnt at the start can get 32k

Wasn't a bad night there. Decent enough night, spoke to Slate not long after and he was gracious in defeat and just said 'that's boxing sometimes'
Dickinson did well to win but i think he needs serious work to take on Bellew or any top class domestic fighters. God knows why Edwards was allowed into the semi final, he was struggling to walk into the ring.
Fighting in the crowd was pretty intense for a while. There was a young lad sat behind me with his dad and he was terrified, don't think they'll be back again. Security at boxing events needs to improve, it was identical to the trouble at the Mag 7. Both sets of fans goading each other in the build up, security ignore it as it's harmless fun, the fight in the ring ends, goading continues and then it kicks off with security in no position to deal with it.
On a brighter note, Chisora was more than happy to chat with fans and pose for photo's with people

problem with securing a crowd at boxing is that there can be more than two factions, easier to police crowds at footie, but something does need to be done. surely if you can ban people from football you can ban them from boxing shows? simply enough, when purchasing the tickets name and address of the person using the ticket are given to the promotor... if this changes, the new name and address get provided... any trouble, you can direct the information to the police and also list that person as unwelcome at future shows.
Nice that you got to meet Chisora - when I saw him at Fury-McDermott 2 he blanked me and my mate trying to congratulate him on the williams victory, in favour of chatting up some blond at the bar

I understand all that, it's just becoming a bit more than a nuisance now. I've started a fresh thread on the trouble aspect to try not to just associate it with Prizefighter.
Yeah, it was an added bonus. He was friendly enough but still think he's too small to cause Wlad any trouble but he is built like a brick outhouse

I'm guessing a crowd at the boxing is a lot 'handier' than one at a football match too.MatthewS wrote:problem with securing a crowd at boxing is that there can be more than two factions, easier to police crowds at footie, but something does need to be done. surely if you can ban people from football you can ban them from boxing shows? simply enough, when purchasing the tickets name and address of the person using the ticket are given to the promotor... if this changes, the new name and address get provided... any trouble, you can direct the information to the police and also list that person as unwelcome at future shows.

Without doubt, the majority of trouble i've seen at football has involved a lot of shouting, posturing and chucking the odd bottle, glass or anything else about. This was actual fighting
Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
wouldn't work you could get your Aunty to ring up and order 10 tickets. Even if it was maximum of say 4 or 5 per buyer (which would never , ever happen) you could just get a pal or sumthin then give em to whoever the heck u want.MatthewS wrote:problem with securing a crowd at boxing is that there can be more than two factions, easier to police crowds at footie, but something does need to be done. surely if you can ban people from football you can ban them from boxing shows? simply enough, when purchasing the tickets name and address of the person using the ticket are given to the promotor... if this changes, the new name and address get provided... any trouble, you can direct the information to the police and also list that person as unwelcome at future shows.

Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
Yep, there's no easy solution to this but this last year has been pretty bad for it
Re: PRIZEFIGHTER as it happens *SPOILER*
yeah... but Aunty has to give 10 names and addies... im not saying that people involved in the sport now would welcome the workload, but as people have mentioned above, this isn't helping the sport...NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:wouldn't work you could get your Aunty to ring up and order 10 tickets. so trouble kicks off and the names get passed to the OB, is your mate, really going to be willing to take the rap for kicking off in front of cameras when he was just a front-man?

great point !MatthewS wrote:if Dodson had been cut like that in a ten-rounder with Dickinson, would it have been stopped after 6?
