What do you think of a record like this

Fought very few good fighters over the course of his career, but was active as humanly possible. What do you think of fighters who fight for competition, money, or fun, rather than titles and greatness? Basically like David Rodriguez or Faruuq Saleem, only much more active.

I respect guys like that a great deal.It still isnt easy to maintain a pace like that even if you arent fighting world beaters.Gettin after it just for the love of the game aint a bad thing.

I agree 100%! I think people today are WAY too caught up in having a glorious record or becoming the G.O.A.T. Obviously there is nothing wrong with that, but there are some legendary figures in boxing who would be lambasted by todays stat-happy fans. Look at great referee Ruby Goldstein. He had a good record, pretty "padded" and no title shots, but the man is a legendary figure in boxing.

I'm a mixed martial artist, and really want to box professionally some day. I have no super title aspirations, but I love the sport, and think it would be a blast to go out and do it!

Guys like this impress me no end. They never made the big time, but they made the sport work for them, had a blast, and without them there would be no such thing as boxing.

Fought 465 fights, his record showed a lot of guys that he had a HUGE experience edge over, but the guy loved to fight no doubt about that. I saw he fought one guy twice on the same night, and would frequently fight 2 days in a row or within a week of each other. Frequently going the distance or at least going rounds with guys. The guy definitely was a real fighter that loved what he did, I'd love to even have 1/8th the amount of fights that this guy did, I love boxing and if it were possible I'd fight to have this many fights, it'd be pretty tough in this day and age though to be able to fight that often for sure. Basically what I'm saying is kudos to the guy for fighting basically as often as is humanly possible, he definitely deserves respect.

The single thing on his record that impresses me most, is the instance in which he was knocked out in one round, and then fought (and won) THE VERY NEXT NIGHT!! Now that's a real fighter, regardless of level of opposition or accolades won.

Len Wickwar was a very good fighter and one of the best never to capture a British title. It's also worth baring in mind that the records of many of his opponents are incomplete on Boxrec, so the caliber of his opposition was higher than it might appear.

I have just looked at the record as well and my jaw just dropped. By the time he was 23 he had 465 fights in the Paid ranks and I really do not know what to say but I am impressed with the amount of activity shown by Len Wickwar.
