If two boxers in the same division never met in their primes

Post by Newbie »

Imagine this scenario. Two all-time great boxers of the same approximate age and weight class never competed against each other in their primes. Then, just out of curiousity, they are matched when they are both in their 50s. How much significance does the match carry regarding their respective legacies as long as they are both the best they can be considering their age (in other words they have both kept themselves up well)?

For example, would you pay to watch a modern day Joe Frazier vs. a modern day Ken Norton and would the match have any significance regarding their respective legacies?

If they want to fight, let them do it. Wouldn't pay for that one though.
