Forget Amir Khan, what happened to AmEr Khan?

Does anyone know what happened to the Light heavy weight prospect Amer Khan? He got a couple of decent wins in his last two fights but hasn't fought since?

Nice lad, Amer. As far as I know, he went the way of many - had to eventually earn a proper living.

Good career that, won an area title, definitely not to be sniffed at.

People on here need to remember not everyone can be Floyd Mayweather Jnr. To even step in the ring for a pro fight win, lose or draw is something to be proud of.

Good post mate. I agree 100% - sometimes I think fans forget about the small hall shows with fighters who have a job at the same time. I try to keep an eye out for fighters who fly under the radar, "the forgotten men" if you will, who don't have a glittering amateur career and the backing of a big promoter.

Khan was a decent fighter on his day. Very gutsy too. He pulled out a good number of close but fair decisions against top 20 domestic opposition.

I think around 2004/2005, when Peter Oboh was such a formidable British champ that the title was in effect tied up, he was being built up towards a fight with Mark Brookes which would have been as big a local fight as there was at the time. Sadly Brookes' career was ended prematurely and I think Khan drifted a little after that.

Amir Khan was in a good fight against Stubbs for Area title, he showed alot of guts in that one.

100%, I always like to keep an eye out for Alex Spitko, game as the next two men, doesn't get any favours, but fcuk me he don't give in to no-one.
