Scott Quigg lives on BBC London 94.9 and online - he's had a dozen mentions. Funnily enough he's on the long shortlist for this week.
I'm thinking of a one-weight week where modern fighters at a weight mingle with legends/forgotten fighters from the same weight (I might hold Quigg back for this before Casey's fight).
I'm also thinking of a one-night week - where I pick a show from the 80s or 90s and try and get as many of the fighters/refs/promoters/fans/trainers from that night on during the 60 minutes.
I'm also thinking of a 100 percent reader's forum week.

Adios.

Interesting...

...lot of thinking going on there, but positive thinking, we like that at Boxrec, puts colour in your cheeks a good think now and again.

Well done Buncey looking forward to that, nice of you to come play with us.

No, not with this Anorak army, but with proper fans.
Odd, if I put up (If I knew how) a smiley face this would be a joke. Is that right?

Oh to be a true fan (zips up his anorak and puts on a greatest knockouts DVD while supping lager and repeating the words "punch him in the face" over and over again)

Good to have you back Steve, you were missed... :) :) :)

I honestly don't get Bunce's writing in there, I usually have to read it a couple of times to see what the point being made is, maybe it's just the idiosyncratic way it's written but I just don't find it entertaining in any way. The piece about Audley & Haye for example, it had the chance to have some sort of context given the fight but it could have been summed up in 6 or 7 words "they used to be mates, y'know". I enjoy his articles in the paper.
I enjoy the Big Daddy Bunce column it's written in his own individually sometimes impenetrable style but a very worthy one page feature in BM.
Mind you he did an excellent job on the Ali's man in the background article too forgot his name.....

People pull up the old 'anorak' quote...they never use the zillion times that I've plugged this site and the other sites on national radio, local radio, TV and in papers. No, it's always the 'anorak' nanny. It is often like being stuck in a Monty Python sketch.

Adios until I get back here on Thursday to plug the show!
"morning ladies"......werent u accused of sexism by some national female reporter and we stood up for u.... well seems your former colleague charlotte jackson got andy grey and richard keys the sacku ought to be more careful maybe seeing as your such a big star.

face it steve anyone could do what u did back in the day....attend fights and try and get printed in a gutter tabloid sports section.....these days far more erudite writers than u go on boxing forums....... dont throw a hissy fit cos a forum poster dared challenge your opinion

your a great writer and u put in the hours i give u that....i genuinely rate u as a writer.....wheras hart, houston, mee, abrams even leach i dont think as writers or even in terms of opinion and knowledge they offer anything special.....look some of us write reports and work in academia....some of us have been watching boxing all our lives.....some of us have been in the ring and have that perspective.....in other words many of us could be great boxing writers....but we do our day jobs....we have no interest in being boxing writers ...... We dont angle when we post on a forum to seem like a writer.....glyn built his magazine with balls knowledge and money and enthusiasm but is he a great writer? Not really no imo......my point is the anoraks and leg humpers seem to hold guys like bunce up as a idol or hero....pretty pitiful. We all have our opinions.....one thing i will say is im sick of the yes men on sky......

I can't really understand what all the fuss is about; if you give it out you should be able to take it.

I'm not really sure about the history to it all though it seems there's an element of jealousy attached to some of the posts. Most on here are boxing fans and enjoy watching the bouts. Some of the posters have a really impressive depth of knowledge of the sport and can argue a point; some of us do not and cannot.

Steve Bunce gets paid for doing what he (and we) enjoy. Most of the rest of us come here to unwind and for a bit of 'fun'. I'd imagine most of us would not like to be a journalist (or could be). There are a few who would like to be and are giving it out left and right.

I've not been on the forum too long at all but there's been some nasty things 'said' on here at times. For the most part they've been shrugged or laughed off; I can't see how a throwaway comment by Bunce gets over 200 posts. There are interesting threads on here that don't get double figures.

I've just rambled really and don't have a great point to make; except; if someone 'calls' you an idiot, get over it. I got called a 'raving huckle' on here the other day and I still don't know what it means.

damned if you do and damned if you dont, i think is the result of this...

either you're bashing him for not apologising or getting bashed for saying he doesnt need to apologise...

ill stay on the fence, watching out for splinters, methinks...

what i do know is that if Buncey was just another poster, and called someone a fcuking dimwit, that would be no great shakes, everyone moves on. face it, if i go a week on here without calling someone a pudendum im doing well...

But Buncey to an extent belongs in another category of poster, like Mooresy or Smigga, where we want to get a reply from them, like a more exclusive version of getting Retweeted by Amir Khan...

and when that reply isnt what we expect, its different to getting the same comments from another regular poster. it seems that way to me anyway...
