Enzo Macc is a nice dude, but simply the most weak-minded and delusional fighter in the last 10 years to win a world title.

And if I hear "I made a mistake" once more, I'll come to his house and shave that silly arsed beard off.

:box:
no I disagree mate. Enzo was doing a great job on Frenkel. He looked very fit and strong and aggressive. Weak mind .....don't tar the man with bloody Fraudley. Oh sorry "most weak minded world champion" you said didn't you...

the crack with Enzo is that he spends every second of every round trying to break his man down and get him out of there. And if he doesn't do this it leaves him knackered/ gassed, open and vulnerable.

Look at the man's record...he has something like 20 odd victories inside 3 rounds.....it's like somebody's give him the blueprint to be an exciting Marquee world beater.
If he did some work and then stood off he wouldn't have lost some of his fights.

I put it down to bad training or he doesn't listen or cann't translate it into a fight.

When he sat at the press conference before the Mag 7 saying he was in the best shape of his life, like many, I thought this was nonsense. But it clearly wasn't because he was in great shape.

Should he retire?? Most definitely or he'll end up in a bad way.....he might do now with the punishment he's taken but I sincerely hope not!
I agree on the weak minded thing,i dont think you can continually put yourself forward for fights after being brutally knocked out like enzo has and be weak minded.Just my opinion anyway.
I think you put it better than me, spot on. And he is to be applauded for it but there comes a point you need protecting from your own bravery.

He definitely gassed a number of times in his career. Whether this was because of him not pacing himself, or whether there was a bit of a stamina issue I am unsure personally.

Never was a big fan of Enzo's.......too much hype about his power, competition was ok'ish, at best prior to fighting Haye and had a big mouthed trainer who just irritates me, to this day.

He should really have quit some time ago. He said he would, if he was to lose to Olafobi, he never did. Said the same, should he he lose to Ledbedev, never did.

Won the Euro against an untested Russian, thought he was bang on again and thought Frenkel was also another push over.....and we know what happened.

Just too overrated and got himself into fights which were above his level.

Fair play, I hope he made a few quid but he really was never world class....ever. Domestic / Euro level, at best and some decent matchmaking but that only took him so far.

Should really pack it in now, but I dont know the guy's finances and whether he can afford to?

He'd have been good in the Light Heavyweight Prizefighter.

Perfect for Enzo.A few pounds over the limit, limited opposition(some very limited) and a three round format.they would have loved him in for his name and he would almost certainly won the £32,000.

3 rounds would suit him perfectly, but it's a bit of a stretch without seeing him fight there?

He's a lovely fella, a decent boxer with great power and a glass jaw.

With what he had, he's done terrifically well.

I hope he retires, enjoys the money he's made and puts something back into the sport as a trainer, or maybe in the media.

I've seen him on Welsh TV a few times covering amateur shows and he's come across well, and pretty knowledgeable.

Good luck to him.

PS Last time out he was ahead and boxing well, and then.......bang. The capitalutions vs Frenkel, Haye and co because of his inability to take a big shot will be the overriding memories of a decent career.

Come on, lads, I explained once already; he's weak-minded when he can't knock you out early. He makes these continious mistakes when you can't get you outta there. It's got the point where if he doesn't knock you out then you'll end up knocking him out. A primie example was Afolabii - miles ahead but quit mentally, IMO.

And that's what got him knocked out.

against Afolabi he didn't look fit and said afterwards he hadn't trained right. He was gassed after a couple of rounds and Afolabi was literally turning to the crowd to laugh while he was on the ropes. Enzo didn't look safe for 5 minutes in that fight it was over the minute he got in the ring if you ask me..........Miles ahead?? you must be joking. :shame:

The writing was on the wall for Enzo for a while but he was still winning the rounds.I dont know the scores, but would not be suprised if he was comfortably ahead.

Enzo had won the vast majority of rounds vs. Afolabi.

depends on the type of fighter he got put in against,if he was put in with a very good wrestler he'd get thrown around like a rag doll! Also depends on how good the opponent is

No one is joking. Afolabi did shit all in about seven rounds. Enzo was easily winning.

no. I was 20 yards away and Enzo had no chance of getting rid of him, no chance of maintaining the pace over 12 rounds and Afolabi was just having a right old chuckle waiting til he was sufficiently George Foreman-ed to knock him spark out, which is exactly what happened. For the definition of "pole-axed", see Enzo vs. Afolabi.

Yep, Enzo got flattened. However, Afolabi was hardly doing anything before that. As you mentioned, Afolabi was simply waiting--he wasn't punching. No one ever said Enzo was on his way to stopping Afolabi, but he had him against the ropes and was actually letting his hands go. Enzo definitely deserved to be ahead at the time of the stoppage..7-1 or 6-2 were the right scores imo.
