Why should be get a share of PPV money from Ireland? Have a wild guess why an Irish fighter should get a share of increased revenue from monies coming from the country that he is from?

If he fights Peterson or Murray or Witter do you think Khan would get more, less or the same PPV buys in Ireland then if he fought McCloskey?

i think if they sold the fight properly in the u.s with all the irish american's i think McCloskey would would earn proper money ????
well the fight is being staged in the uk though isnt it so you cant attract a large irish american attendance at say madison square garden or something and its not a fight hbo would put on ppv.

That becomes irrelivent because he would then get more uk ppv revenue because more people would buy the fight from the uk.

If he fights an irish fighter like mcloskey he gets less uk ppv buys but counteracts it with the irish ppy buys - so why give a percentage of that away.
Eh? It becomes irrelevant in what way? I am actually struggling to comprehend what your point is.

Why would Khan get less PPVs in the UK against McCloskey than Peterson? Yer logic is screwed up my friend.

Anyone that can defend the offer made to McCloskey is either a deranged Khan-fan or needs their head read in my opinion.

well for a start khan already said the peterson fight is a no go, and even if it did happen british people like watching British v US fights. Casual punters dont know how good peterson is, they just know he's a yank and he can be hyped up. How can they hype up mcloskey?

They would probably come out to an arena in the us if the fight was being staged there but they wouldnt pay for it on ppv no,not enough of them anyway.

Amir Khan swaggered back into Britain and created a storm of ill-feeling as he dumped conditioner Alex Ariza in a dispute over money and turned away several worthy opponents for his April homecoming at the MEN Arena, also in money disputes, drawing severe criticism from British promoter Barry Hearn.
"Frankly, I don't know who Khan is going to get to fight for the money he was offering..." said Hearn.
Khan, who essentially promotes himself, is hardly winning any new fans for his first appearance here since 2009, which ranks as a PR disaster because the Bolton fighter comes off a magnificent showing against Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas, where he proved that his fighting heart - and his chin - are much better than previously suspected, thanks largely to the conditioning work of Ariza.
Nevertheless, Khan wants it all his own way and settles for 36-year-old Junior Witter on April 16, a man who has not fought in 18 months, lost two of his last three fights and leaves his best fight in the kitchen as he boils down to 10 stone. Witter, presumably, also comes cheap.

I wouldnt necessarily disagree with that logic.

I dont think a lot of real boxing fans would like it but then again boxing isnt run for the real fans
Just look at Haye v Harrison and how many PPV`s that sold, when it was essentially nothing more than a freak show rather than a decent fight. Most true boxing fans knew this from the start, but the general public were sold into it by the massive media campaign.

Khan was destroyed by Prescott in 54 seconds, now he is world champion and just been in a classic fight with Maidana. The whole revenge angle, King Khan setting the record straight etc etc would have the British public clambering to open their wallets.

PPV is all about media contrived interest and not the quality of the fight itself. If it was about the quality of the fight, Froch`s last few fights should have sold 10 times the amount that haye v harrison did, but of course it didn`t and we all know the reasons why.

Absolutely correct. For big PPV numbers, you need a story or someone the general public has heard of.
