I doubt very much Calzaghe could sell out the MEN on his own, so expect a Hatton defence double bill. I'd actually be up for going to that.My T Sharp wrote:I've just read an article on the Sky Sports website which indicates that Calzaghe Vs Lacy is definately gonna be in the UK at Manchester or Cardiff. It also might be another 2 o'clock PPV.
I hope it means just a Showtime PPV...I won't be shelling out £14.95 for a Calzaghe PPV
I quite like Robin Reid but i want Lacy to win, that may sound strange but Boxing needs a touch of continuity within it's divisions, a young, vibrant, fresher champion to win and take on Calzaghe is what we need IMO No disrespect to Reid because if he wins he will have deserved it but he looked awful at times versus Magee and slowed down at the end against Ottke (granted the officiating must have deflated him). Do we really want him to win and put the SM hierarchy in jeopardy again? Just as we are getting closer to finding a definitive ruler a 35 year old who's best years were back in 1997 when he went to Italy and beat Nardiello could come along and throw things up in the air.
With Brian Magee going to Germany to test how good Vitali Tsypko will be and Mundine and Kessler fighting in a bout that gets my mouthwatering this weekend the Super Middleweight division NEEDS Lacy to win IMO for the good of it's immediate future.

I see Lacy shading it, perhaps something like 115-113 with Reid not doing that extra 10% needed.
Lacy is a little hungrier IMO as well.
I hope Reid can do it of course, his chin and ring nous will keep him in there for the 12 rounds. Could be close fight.
Dont think wither man knew of the other before this fight tho! Lacy may just underestimate Reid.

I'm looking forward to this fight. Lacy will come straight for Reidy, so there is a good chance it will be a mint fight.
Hope Rob wins, but he's fighting a tank of a man (see picture).
Stuey, from boxingaddicts, went over to Vegas last month and got to meet just about everybody. This is a picture of him with Jeff Lacy. Stocky fuckers both.
