You see, this is how a tournament should be ran.
F*ck Prize Fighter, f*ck Crease and f*ck his pathetic attempt to get into the HoF on the back of his shitty tournament because he can't get in any other way.

Kevo has this right. (crease and the fvck thing and all) If I have a title shot I'm going to take it........however If I don't have such an option, I'll come back and grovel and see where it gets me. Of all the belts this one appears to be the most sparkly.

Holman Williams will sign up to find new ways to lose.
If there is more room, Freddie Steele will possibly join as well.

I was planning in shutting up. But on this occasion, I have been goaded.DetroitHxC wrote:After trying to steal our thunder with his own tournament
Prizefighter is completely separate entitiy from the Million Dollar Tournament and it serves a different purpose.
As I said before, it is easy to be cynical and negative... Upon examination of the fighters, it's clear that Monzon is a stand-out favourite.
Bearing this in mind, it's a waste of time for Managers to include thelower ranked fighters because they have very little prospect of winning it.

What Kevo fails to understand is that Prizefighter is not about me...kevo wrote:You see, this is how a tournament should be ran.

Prizefighter has been criticised recently, but it offers the opportunity for the lower ranked fighters to get a leg-up in the rankings.
The Million Dollar Tournament on the other hand just cements the elite fighter's legacy of the lesser boxers... Because of the open nature of the tourament, it it not an even play field.
Both the tournament meet different needs and have different requirements.
Re: The Million Dollar Middleweight Tournament Sign Up Thread!!!
I'm considering entering 1 or both my fighters in the tournament.
Will see how results go and if Herol Graham gets ducked for a title again![[icon_twisted.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

Or for one of the top 10 draft picks to pound away at a few unranked guys.Crease wrote: Prizefighter has been criticised recently, but it offers the opportunity for the lower ranked fighters to get a leg-up in the rankings.

I'll have you know I devoted somewhere between 9-10 minutes of my life to running Prizefighter.
I'll never get that time back.

Well, as I say, Prizefighter is a work-in-progress, next time it will obly be unranked fighters.hitman09 wrote:Or for one of the top 10 draft picks to pound away at a few unranked guys.
Your statement is accurate for describing the Million Dollar Tournamentas only a few of the guys have a realistic chance of winning it, due to the lack of sanctions.
In which case it does begin to seem rather pointless. All DiBiase's tournament does is cement the bigger guys legacy and add a few more losses to the lesser boxers.
Re: The Million Dollar Middleweight Tournament Sign Up Thread!!!
Incorrect. the last MDT had Napoles, Whitaker, Leonard, Rodriguez, Walcott and others I can't recall, all of whom were former or future titlists. All could have won it. Leonard was a big underdog, having been poor until the tournament.Crease wrote:Well, as I say, Prizefighter is a work-in-progress, next time it will obly be unranked fighters.hitman09 wrote:Or for one of the top 10 draft picks to pound away at a few unranked guys.

Your tourney had Bob Fitzsimmons, and a bunch of low ranked guys. Only one guy had a realistic chance of winning.
Re: The Million Dollar Middleweight Tournament Sign Up Thread!!!
By the way, I think the MDT should be held off until later in the season when things start to get a bit dull, as it would be a great way to make the latter stages of the season more interesting, rather than using up all the excitement when it isn't needed.
