Weekly workout.

Post by 'Frilla »

Was just wondering, Whats everyones weekly routine at the gym?

A typical week for me:

Monday: Boxing, then weights: Back, and Biceps.

Tuesday: Shoulders(60 mins)/Cardio(30 mins)

Wednesday: Boxing.

Thursday: Legs(60 mins)/Cardio(30 mins)

Friday: Chest and Triceps(60 mins)/Cardio(30 mins)

Saturday: Morning run, abs workout.

Sunday: Rest.

That's quite a weekly routine. I have a busy job and kids, so that sort of dedication is not possible.

Monday: usually nothing, unless I have to catch up on the Sunday session.
Tuesday: nothing.
Wednesday: 30-40 minutes bike work, 30 minutes upperbody
Thursday: nothing.
Friday: 90 minutes basketball, usually 4*4 fullcourt, sometimes 3*3 fullcourt.
Saturday: housework, gardening
Sunday: gym. 25 minutes cardio, 60 minutes weights, abs, legs, everything.

Plus I stretch everyday, legs and back.

I hit the bag every now and then. sometimes sober, sometimes not. it makes worryingly little difference, actually.

Bend your back to it, sir: for it will snow all night.
How gently they sink -- white spiders,
multi-bladed bleak things,
these first, into the near mirror
of your shovel's surface. It snows,
lightly -- wide columns
of black between each flake --

but it will snow all night, and thicker.
So you start now and scrape
your driveway of its first half inch.
Every hour you will plow
it down and up again.
It's not a grave
you dig, nor a path to school,

nor is there a dot of philosophy
in this work: you clear it as it falls
so as not to lift the heavy load at dawn.
The lanes behind you whiten,
imperceptibly hiss, and several --
smoke-roses, epaulets -- bite
your back, your closed shoulders.

So soft, stubborn, it falls, parting
the streetlamp's light
harder, larger, and the whole cold neighborhood
bandaged. On the corner
the salt and sand box,
the mailbox (such white
on blue!) could be art

but aren't. You should move
a little faster now behind
the shovel -- push once your twenty feet
of drive and it fills.
Soon it will take two.
Bend your back to it, sir: for it
will snow all night.

Just do the weights at the weekend. Not done any bag/boxing work in a while.

Try to run a minimum of 40 kilometres a week.

Going for a run is better than any cardio machine at the gym, but i dont have the time during the week.

Its hard to push myself to go for a run on a Saturday morning, but i try to get it over and done with then have the rest of the weekend off.

You can't beat a good bit of road work. You just need to find a decent route to follow.

Not everyone trains in a gym :shame:

Since i am a small puny girly man, I don't care for weights (or the monotony of treadmills & stationary bikes), I have no interest in gyms, especially as someone who likes space to run. I use only the three work-outs...

Heavy Bag-Jump Rope Circuit (20 mins.)

100m Sprint Intervals (10 Reps)

7km (4.5 mile) Run (30 mins.)

I try to get two of these done every day of the week, but I probably only manage it about five days out of most weeks.

Monday: 10 Mile run with about an hour of shadow boxing

Tuesday: 5 Mile run with intermittent sprints and about an hour of shadow boxing

Wednesday: Boxing Gym for about 3 hours (heavy bag, speed bag, double-end, sparring, etc.)

Thursday: Same as Wednesday only with different some emphasis on whatever I did less of the day before.

Friday: 5 Mile run, yoga/stretching, and about an hour of shadow boxing

Saturday: One Saturday a month is an endurance run, basically running until complete and utter exhaustion, upon which I go home, shower and get a nice nap. The Other 3 weeks it's a rest day.

Sunday: Rest, LOTS OF REST

Really interesting to see how many guys still do body-splits on their training as everything I've been reading on the subject in recent years suggests that this is really only relevant to hard-core body builders and you won't get the best results out of this method.
General sentiment seems to be the focus on full functionality is most productive - squats, deadlifts, presses, oly lifts, pull-ups etc. And that's been the case whether I've been checking out the likes of Alvin Cosgrove, rosstraining.com, crossfit.com or Martin Rooney.
Having said that, my training is buggered at the moment thanks to a nasty case of shoulder impingement - consequently restricted to running and legs/core. In terms of running I do one 'steady-state' run of anywhere between 7 and 10km once a week and I'll do another two sessions of different sprint intervals.
Other than that I'm primarily doing squat variations - back, front, Bulgarian split-squat and unweighted single-leg, along with rehab work for the shoulder.

I've started sucking cock a bit. Dissing people with infinitely more fashion sense than me. Banging euro sluts and bigging up Muslim women.

I go on boxing websites, which I'm repeatedly banned from, because Im so inexplicably retarded I can't take a hint.

I then post metrosexual pictures of myself with homosexual connotations and imagine I earn a huge amount of money (I don't, but as I have the mental age of a feral Romanian gypsy it's a facade I enjoy maintaining).

Often I talk about Toronto like its the party capital of the world. It isn't. In fact I often fantasise about living in other parts of the world that has even a modicum of excitement. Instead I sit in and play Yahtzee with my imaginary friends that I've created to balance my dull, fruitless life.
