Who Will Be Ranked Higher In History --- (Part III)...
Juan Manuel Marquez, or Oscar De La Hoya?

I would go with DLH, personally.

I think Marquez deserves to be. But that wont happen. It's pretty close.

Shit, I don't know about this one. Oscar was a great boxer, made more PPV money than any other boxer, started his own promotion, etc
Marquez is Mexico's greatest boxing hero since Chavez, still fighting at 36, still looking great. FOTY vs. Diaz
Too close to call for me.

Keeps being a round robin between these 3 hmm? I'm still thinking a lot about DLH/Mosley and who has the better legacy there as that's a really tough call.

De La Hoya got a massive jump-start on Mosley through the first-half of their careers, which IMO is the difference in the end.gilgamesh wrote:Keeps being a round robin between these 3 hmm? I'm still thinking a lot about DLH/Mosley and who has the better legacy there as that's a really tough call.

I think Marquez will nick De La Hoya for the Boxing Scholars. He can still gain ground too considering his career has yet to end. The only guys I can picture matching Marquez at this point lie in the bigger guys at 140, which says a lot about his skill level.
