At current his deal with sky he has 20 fights a year. Will itv show this many.

I can't see Sky wanting to let Hatton go now, and I can't imagine Warren wanting to take Hatton into a non-PPV situation. So either the ITV deal will be scuppered or Frank will have contracts with both Sky and ITV.

According to guardian Sports network want 23 shows on tv. I can only see itv having ten a year. THey wont want the power v robinson type of fights or minter v symonds shows which were good
So I think he will have to show on both. I think they were hoping at start of year sky give another long contract.But now they only want to put on better quality fights.

Any chance of a return to Wednesday night boxing? Don't think ITV would be too keen to bank on boxing for a Friday or Saturday night audience but I can definitely see Dickie Davis dusting off the beige jacket and rocking out midweek for less high-profile bouts.

Friday night fights just doesn't have the same sound to it still, that though is being dictated to by Sky (I would believe) cause of the footie rights. However, Saturday night - why not get people in their local watching the fights and people who are not out watching it. Amir Khan had the highest viewing figures of the weekend. I am convinced that any pro boxing will do better than that (providing the fights are competitive).

Like we discussed before, i don't see why ITV cannot use the ITV 2 & 3 channels to good effect, it's not like they are much good anyway unless you like repeats of Prisoner Cell Block H. They could show the main event on ITV1 and then extended highlights and the undercard bouts continued on ITV2 so those people who want to watch the love island or whatever else is on can do so and the Boxing fans can switch over. When a main event is not too high profile they can have the entire show on ITV2 and then we can still get to see the Power-Robinsons and Minter-Symonds fights.

I agree with that. they mention this in the guardian about itv4 being launched.
The problem is itv seem obssessed with reality rubbish. They show hardly any sport at the moment. Will they buy it and make a hash of it. Like they did with the premiership highlights programme a few years ago.

Pubs don't put boxing on unless specifically requested, in general. Drives away the birds, see...

Pubs are increasingly being replaced by bars as well. Is it too much to ask for someone to put a bit of carpet and a comfy chair in a boozer nowadays? Half my mates haven't been in what I'd call a pub for years.

I own a little old English Pub and I have Sky, the demand for boxing has really fallen over the years, I feel due to the poor bouts that have been screened the general public have lost interest, however there was a huge demand for Ricky v Tszyu but it would have cost me too much on ppv and it was on at 2am, which due to our ancient laws meant I could not stay open.

The feedback I have been getting it that everybody heard the result and are buzzing but not many people actually got to see it.

All in all it was a very positive night for British boxing though.

I fornicating hate all these bars, with there laminate wood flooring, high stools and overpriced beer. And what ever happened to having good, old fashioned nicotene stained wallpaper in the boozer? Now they're all painted stupid colours, with gay lighting effects! Harrumph.

Boozers are what make life worth living. Bars have their place, don't get me wrong, but you can't spend a day on the piss in bars, nor can you pop out to a bar for a quick one while the tea is in the oven.

Thatnkfully where I live is blessed with an abundance of proper boozers.

Its not easy keeping a boozer going nowadays, I feel as I am working my balls off and only to hand any profit (which is very rare) over to the government.

as stated before I own an independant 200 year old English boozer and there are not many left in this country at all. I only bought the place because it was being shut down, wish I hadn't of fcukin bothered now. Cant wait to get the fcuk out of this country, this little island is sinking fast. :x
