Q./Leotis Martin vs Thad Spencer(May.28.1968)

Post by Brutu »

It happened in front of a sell out crowd at the Royal Albert Hall,London England.
A fast and furious fight.
Someone over at the cyberboxing zone was interested in knowing if this fight
had been televised on the BBC-TV?

As far as I know this was off TV unfortunately, I've read several accounts of the fight that testify is was one of the best ever seen in Britain.

Yeah,i would imagine if it was shown on the BBC-Tv there would have been a concern about the gate receipts.

At that time boxing was always shown delayed on UK TV, I expect because as there was no British interest in the main event the BBC decided to avoid it, which is a shame for us all.

Yes, it was not televised and that is a crying shame because it is said to be an absolute classic.
