Who is the best British and Irish Boxer at the moment? Is it The Prince of Wales, the great Joe Calzaghe? Or the world light-welterweight champion Ricky "Hitman" Hatton? Or how about the man who knocked out Mike Tyson, Danny Williams? Or the man who will hopefully beat Tyson in a month's time, Irishman Kevin McBride? Or the Olympic silver medallist, just turning pro, Amir Khan? What about Robin Reid? Matt Skelton? Scott Harrison? Michael Brodie? Or someone else? Cast your vote here!

Although with the inclusion of Amir Khan I suspect you could include "potential" aswell a best British fighter P4P. I know some folk who think Calzaghe vs Johnson is a forgone conclusion and still might have Calzaghe as number 1 based on potential over achievement.Chopping Right wrote:The choice has to be something of a no-brainer after this particular weekend.

I was a big believer in Calzaghe once, and I still believe he could do big things, but after night-on 8 years as a potential world-beater you have to wonder.stujones wrote:...I know some folk who think Calzaghe vs Johnson is a forgone conclusion and still might have Calzaghe as number 1 based on potential over achievement.
I've always maintained that Hatton was a better fighter than Joe in a P4P sense but I didn't think he would get the same achievements as Joe due to the depth of talent holding the belts in his devision. I saw him beating Harries but that was all.
I would say Junior Witter is right with Hatton in terms of ability also - then I would have Joe.
