German heavyweight contender Timo Hoffmann (32-3-1; 18KOs) will find a different opponent than scheduled in the opposite corner on June 11, in Kempten, Germany. The current IBF I/C champ Hoffmann was supposed to duke it out versus former British king Michael Sprott, with the vacant Euro crown at stake, but Sprott pulled out yesterday due to a sudden illness. After a frantic research, Sauerland Event was able to save the title fight bringing in Paolo Vidoz (18-2; 12KOs) of Italy as a late replacement. Vidoz, an Olympic medalist in 2000, has quite a name in Germany due to a decent performance in a losing effort versus Russian giant Nicolai Valuev, and the European Boxing Union accepted the match with the condition that the winner fights Sprott within 120 days. The 35-year old Vidoz had impressive wins over current contenders Samuel Peter and Calvin Brock in the Olympic tournament but never completely fulfilled insiders' expectations as a pro. The title clash will be aired live in Germany on the terrestrial

What a shitter. It make take a while for Sprott to get another opening like this.

Well, only 120 days according to the EBU ruling. They're normally pretty good.
