Tony Morisson
Does anybody here remember a lt heavy/heavyweight from Canada named Tony Morrison - I'm looking for info, particularly as to the conditions surrounding his retirement...
I checked his record, it is missing a lot of fights. I have an old Ring magazine from '89 when he beat Lakusta for the Canadian title. The magazine said his record was 18-7-2. Our database has all of Tony's losses but is missing atleast a half dozen of his wins. It makes his record look a lot uglier than it really is.
Also Ken Lakusta was listed as 26-14 in the magazine. Some fights missing there too.
I guess tony won by split decision, but the magazine had him winning handily. Ken was "no match" for his speed and fast combinations.
He lost three more times and then retired. I would assume because he had gone as far as he could go. His last loss was a first round KO to Riddick Bowe. He also lost the Canadian heavyweight championship in his next fight to the man he beat for it, Ken Lakusta.
