Would make a good support bout for the next Haye fight. Lets hope it actually happens now.
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
Its a must for the undercard of Haye's fight on May 21st, lets hope Degale has no reason not to fight on the bill.
I hope he will, its great publicity for him as well.

Didn't expect this. Warren never loses purse bids on the fights he wants. I'd be suprised if they did fight on a Haymaker card. Even though Degale really wants the fight can't imagine Warren allowing it.
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
They bid £400000 for it. Hayemaker have only have tv for Haye so it will be on the undercard. But it could be a headliner in its own right!
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
Degale by stoppage for me here. Groves defence is poor at this kind of level and Degale has underrated power at the weight. Can't see any way Groves can win the fight. Different leagues for me.

Thought dave cold well won it ahead of hayemaker. Same firm though

they had a date set up for Groves vs Obede Toney remember?leforge wrote:They bid £400000 for it. Hayemaker have only have tv for Haye so it will be on the undercard. But it could be a headliner in its own right!
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
They did Rob but there is no way they are going to be able to make any money back on this unless its on a PPV card its 100k tops from Sky for a sat fight night that doesnt even cover a quarter of the costs
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
yes I had tickets for it.robpalmer135 wrote:they had a date set up for Groves vs Obede Toney remember?leforge wrote:They bid £400000 for it. Hayemaker have only have tv for Haye so it will be on the undercard. But it could be a headliner in its own right!

Got this of east side
Dave Coldwell put it the winning bid of £400,000 presumably on behalf of Hayemaker. Hayemaker via Adam Booth bid £325,000 and Warren £320,000.
Theres allot of rumours Warren has WBA regular Champion Dimitri Sartison line up in case he lost out

Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
Hmmmm I see an injury or Degale vacating his title with the excuse that 'he receives an offer to fight fore a more significant title' etc
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
Very nice fight for DeGale, I think. Sartison can punch, but he's no great shakes, imo.FIGHTFANs wrote:Got this of east side

Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
Anyone think it's a little bit coincidental that news broke today that Groves wont be fighting on Saturday in Liverpool?
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
Yes, Groves has Sky dates. It doesn't have to be support for Haye.leforge wrote:yes I had tickets for it.robpalmer135 wrote:they had a date set up for Groves vs Obede Toney remember?leforge wrote:They bid £400000 for it. Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
A nightmare scenario here, lads. DeGale won't be fighting on a HayeMaker bill. Franke boy will pull DeGale out, and fight for the WBA Twatish belt, or whatever. Another hit against boxing.
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
Maybe recent events in boxing have increased the cynicism in me but I remain unconvinced it will happen until the first punch is landed.

Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
So what to make of it ? Does Warren allow his fighter on a Hayemaker bill ? For 200K maybe he will ( if that's what he can expect ) or if not....then maybe Booth has pulled off a master stroke, by winning the bid and avoiding a fight he surely doesn't want for his boy so soon ( seeing as wheels almost came off last time out ) ?
Re: Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves
I'm with you on the former, MW. It's a hell of a lot of wedge for DeGale to turn down...especially when he's ultra confident of winning anyway. I don't give a sh1t if there's some bullsh*t belt as the alternative - I can't see there being any more money in a WBA/WBO shot than there is here. There might be but I'd be amazed.MightyWarrior wrote:So what to make of it ? Does Warren allow his fighter on a Hayemaker bill ?
