Curtis Valentine, the lad that stopped Luke Robinson, won the Midlands senior novice (class B) title last year and reached this year's senior ABA quarter-finals.

He was a bit of banger in the amateurs but his style never suited boxing to computerised scoring.

So, was it just one board inspector who was mis-informed? Or was it the whole of the board? Did the matchmaker know?
I feel like columbo.

Does it matter?Robinson was an ABA finalist who looked teak-tough.I would have been more worried matching him with a classy boxer before the fight

Before i write this i know the response from many who read it will be bullshit, he lost, he got outclassed by Valentine, and that is so far from the truth!!! Luke Robinson should never of got in that ring, he hadnt been training for easy a month, he was suffering from illness, INJURY!!! from the outset you could clearly see he had nothing to give, he was a shadow of himself!!! since the shocking defeat he's won every fight with ease! and he's requested twice now for a rematch against Valentine, but on both occassions he's failed to meet that request. the 1st he was out of country on work and 2nd he failed brain scan. Knowiing Luke Robinson he needs to fight Valenitne for himself, to put the record straight and show how suppier he is to Curtis Valentine.

BBBofC inspector told me he was unboxed. Luke's dad was carrying on alarmingly afterwards about the matchmaking. I thought beforehand it was a bit of a mismatch, only the other way round.

Robinson was fucked before he got in the ring you idiot, that's why his dad was kicking off and mainly because his coach/corner should never of let him get in the ring and when he did they should of stopped it after the first, knowing and seeing he was fucked and had nothing to give. Luke preys one day he'll get to fight Valentine again just to show thats he's nothing compared to the ABA finalist who beat the likes of Tommy Coward, kurt bronberg, ben Faliji(3times), Glen Foot and put the great antony ogogo down and so many others who had way more experience and achievements compared to a new comer to the corrupt sport...

I can see most people are so they say fed up with up and comers boxing journeymen, but these kids need the education a good journeyman brings. I've boxed anwar & gave him quite a problem until a horrible cut ended our fight . At least for their first few fights they need opponents that will last the distance and give them a good run out before taking jobs against unbeaten lads over longer distances. Knocking out tomato cans don't help much either .

how about you do some research before, instead of going by word of mouth, Curtis Valentine when amateur was knocking people out and when he turned pro at 28, he was at his peak. another reason Luke's dad was kicking off was the other fighters from Luke's gym/Mark Bateson's gym were all fighting bums, guys you could beat while in a coma. 3rd fight he got Valentine, injured and ill, fucked up. just look at the other boxers out there who get such a easy ride to the high ranks and money and see if they get screwed like that. Luke's next fight is against Richard Troupe, that's if Tommy Coward doesnt stop him on the 11th. then luke win be 6-1-0. if he was hyped like so many shit fighters out there, like laim cameron and co he'd be pushing top 10...

laim cameron fought Ryan Clarke twice and the second time he won by a point only. Luke when he fought clark in a 4 3's bout, it should of been stopped, Clarke was outclassed, giving nothing back, another round Luke Robinson would of put him down! it will be on you tube in the nextcouple of weeks so you can check out...

FWIW I'm a big fan and believer in Luke. I think I've been at all his fights. The night you're talking about Valentine was better than anyone expected, Luke was worse than anyone expected.
