Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
Hi guys,
Great news for Melbourne's Susie Q Ramadan, Her trainer Ben Brizzi has just called me to announce she will be fighting Terry Lynn Cruz (USA) for the vacant IBF Women's world bantamweight title.
http://boxrec.com/schedule.php?country= ... &SUBMIT=Go
The fight is on Sunday 20th of Feb at the Reggio Calabria club in Brunswick and will be supported by a huge amateur card, the Brizzi Bros, Ben, Cos and Cos's Son Samuel, are doing their utmost best to get their girl a chance at a quality world title, after winning both the OPBF and the WBF titles along the way.
Cruz 17, 6, 2, with 8 Ko's has not been that active of late after losing a close SD to Germany's Alesia Graf in Germany ???, but she looks to be an honest fighter who has her share of losses, I see her as very beatable and it should be a terrific fight and a good test for the 19-0, 8ko's Preston based fighter.
It would be great for Women's boxing if Susie Q can grab this IBF World Women's title, it will add to the WBO belt held by WA's Erin McGowan and we will hopefully see a resurgence of the female variety which was sparked by the "Wild Thing" Sharon Anyos way back in Nov 2005.
Another pretty good fighter to watch out for, and i mean pretty, is Queenslands Julie Gaston, undefeated so far, she will certainly make her mark after grabbing the Qld state title and is booked in for a crack at the national belt shortly.
I have known and assisted Julie, a former Australian Muay Thai Champion for quite sometime, She is interested in pursuing fights in Japan, and will certainly make her presence felt in the sport, so watch her as well and who knows, we could have three girls wearing World title straps in no time.
Also do not forget Victoria's Dirty Di Prazak, she is also heading that way and will make a name for herself in the international scene before too long, she is so strong for a lady and loves a fight, she has the talent and with just a little more experience, opportunites will come to her as well.
Just some interesting Saturday night news for you die hard fights fans who are at home.
Cheers,
Brad Vocale

Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
That great news. Hopefully Susie can win the Title. That would make 2 Current Female World Champions.
Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
Got an entrance song for her: An oldie but a goodie.

Ding ding dong (ding ding dong)
Ramadan, ramadanadingdong.

This card also has about 20 amateur fights on as well, I call on fellow BoxRecers to get along and support our amateurs. If any one is in Melbourne on this date, try and get along, why not meet up with your fellow posters, I'll be there watching the fights if anyone want's to catch up for a drink and a chat.
Our fellow poster 'Frilla is appearing in the NSW state titles around this date, please post details 'Frilla, it would be a crime for any one in Sydney at that time not to get along and support him, he is a good poster and a great guy.

Surely dale if u were trainin hard for a comeback and takin this last campaign seriously as u say u are u wouldnt be drinking. Anyway will be a great day and the brizi boys always put on a good show. Go suz she really is a class act. All the best
Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
Not that I have to answer to you, but I'll be drinking more than one soda water that day, as that is my drink of choice for the next three months or more. Considering I'm fighting out of Moorabin gym and we have multiple boys fighting that day, i wouldn't be drinking any thing alcoholic if I wanted.
If you want to keep on with your smart arse potshots, surely taking swipes while I'm trying to rally support for the amateurs wouldn't be the time/place.
In fact I think some one like yourself, a pro boxer with a big involvement in the sport as a trainer etc. and BoxRec forum member would be a big help at drumming up support for our sport's grass roots level.

I gather plain water doesn't taste as good with Gin or Bacardi as soda waterdberry wrote:Not that I have to answer to you, but I'll be drinking more than one soda water that day, as that is my drink of choice for the next three months or more. Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
And what exactly is your contribution to boxing again? Who was it that you fought/trained/promoted/judged/refereed again? Or are you just another parasite to the sport? You sure as fornicate aren't a fan.
Back on ignore you go, you small man.

Any way people, amateur fights on at the Reggio Calabria club in Brunswick, Melbourne, Feb 20th. About twenty fights I beleive, and there has always been something worthwhile seeing, every time I've been. Not to mention Suzie Q's world title bid on the same card.
Also NSW titles in Sydney featuring our own 'Frilla, still awaiting details from him but i believe it may be on the same weekend.

I've done absolutely nothing for Oz pro boxing & Oz pro boxing has done nothing for me. Just an 18-year loose relationship :P :Pdberry wrote:And what exactly is your contribution to boxing again? "Back on ignore you go, you small man" That's extremely upsetting...might have to cry myself to sleep tonight....maybe even tomorrow night
Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
I wasnt takin potshots at u mate just keepin u on your toes. But dale has a point it will be a great day of amateur boxing and steve kerr has some promising young boys. And suzie is a great little boxer i have watched her live several times and she is all class. So wel worth going to watch if your free and in the area will be a great day of boxing
Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
This should be a cake walk for Suzie
Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
Suzie should do it easy but it is a step up in opponent. Unfortunately i think she finds it hard to get the bigger names through lack of sponsors or backing im not sure but i know the brizi boys would be trying everythin to get her the fights and would let her fight anyone. Hopefully this could lead to bigger things for her, she really is a classy boxer
Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
Cruz will be 40 this year and has not fought in nearly two years. She may find Suzie a bit tough.
Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
Ramadan UD over Cruz
99 - 91 x3

Re: Susie Q, World title Melbourne, Feb 20
