Patrick 'Blue Boy' Gallagher
Patrick 'Blue Boy' Gallagher
I watched 'Blue Boy' beat Billy Schwer (what a fighter!) in the ABA finals years and years ago. I know he had a spell as a professional; then he went away. Does anyone know how he's getting on and why he decided to finish the boxing? Thanks.

PJ had a cracking pro career with the great fights mentioned above whereas Blue boy never got passed the novice pro stage.
Would love to see those fights again though - good luck finding them

I am sure I read that PJ is to run the London Marathon with Mark Delaney this year. What a contrast and what an example for his cousin when he gets his head together.

IIRC PJ has done a few marathons for charity; obviously still keeps himself in really good nick.simon fox wrote:I am sure I read that PJ is to run the London Marathon with Mark Delaney this year. What a contrast and what an example for his cousin when he gets his head together.
I remember towards the end of his pro career he complained of a medical condition that left him low on energy and which affected his training. Did they ever get to the bottom of that?

That sounds about right - with his all action style such a condition was always going to have an impact!simon fox wrote:Wasn't it a hormone thing terry? a problem with adrenaline.

Re: Patrick 'Blue Boy' Gallagher
No Jeff; I think you got it right there, it was a testosterone issue.
