Rendall Munroe

Post by Shambles »

Hello everyone. I was wondering what general opinion is of Rendall - what do you see as his strengths and weaknesses? Is he good enough to beat someone like Steve Molitor, who would perhaps suit him better than Nishioka.

He has also stated that he will be fighting in March (although his team are struggling to find a venue in Leicester or nearby) - any thoughts on what would be a good match up? Thanks.

I like him and yes I think he would do better against Moliter than he did in Japan, his weaknesses IMO are his feet are a little on the slow side and he is a bit one dimensional and at times easy to hit but offensively he's very strong and relentless I think he could push Moliter back and make him fight Rendelk's fight taking him into the trenches with Munroe winning a close decision

I like him and hope to see him back up fighting for a world title soon....... as long as he doesn't fight in Coventry again

Molitor has more obvious weaknesses than Nishioka does, Alex, but he has one thing he does every bit as well, IMO- his footwork is greatly superior to Rendall's. i actually rate Molitor's footwork as near-excellent, neat and quick and precise and not too much wasted energy (unless he faces a banger in which case his fear does funny things to his feet, rather like Khan).

i could see Rendall having struggles in trying to trap and corner Molitor, in the same way that Nishioka was able to fight the whole fight from the middle of the ring. only chance Rendall would have, IMO, would be pushing him against the ropes, and i think he'll struggle to get the fight there.

Agreed Moliter has superb footwork but he isn't as strong as Nishioko so if Munroe can push him against the ropes he can keep him there throwing punches in combinations.

aye and also he hasn't got Nishioka's pop, so Rendall can march forward without as much fear

i just think he would struggle to corner Molitor, and unless he spends most of the fight with Molitor pushed against the ropes using his huge frame to put weight on Molitor, Molitor can just fiddle his way through amateur style

It's virtually impossible to not like Rendall.
