because that would be his run of fights, i was wondering how he would fit pavlik in as he is fightig Glen Johnson Next for the super 6 and should he win he will have the abraham - ward winner so would pavlik be inbetween?

also froch cant fight himself only Tyson fury can fight himself :DD

I imagine pavlik would be some kind of interim champion for now

Its great news. Its the kind of superfight froch deserves
And by the time he has fought johnson it should be made.

Now will people stop saying hennessey is a bad promoter? And what is it about froch that makes me think he has a shot at beating anyone? Cos he is so damn versatile and has the best chin since mccalls heydey

Firstly it cant be made after he's fought johnson unless he loses because he'll be in the super 6 final and be contractually obliged to appear and secondly how does pavlik becoming the mandatory to frochs belt make hennessy a good promoter when that has nothing to do with hennessy?

How the hell does Pavlik deserve a shot at the SMW Title? I can't see him being a force at SMW, I see all the super 6 fighters plus Bute beating him fairly handily

Maybe Kessler v Pavlik for the Interim title a few months after Froch v Johnson. Then the winner of that vs the winner of the Super 6.

id be up for that but again froch will be contracted to fight in the final of the super 6.They'll probably just strip froch of the title and have pavlik and kessler fight for the vacant belt and possibly have froch getting an automatic shot once the super 6 is done

Good move, putting a fighter just out (or is he?) of a rehab centre as mandatory challenger!

Pavlik isn't at the level of Froch. Froch is the more active fighter and been alot more impressive in recent fights. Froch would beat him to a wide decision if those two fought.

Pavlik is pretty one-dimensional and I don't think he would be able to outfight or overpower Froch--a move up to 168 will vitiate his power. It would be a good fight, but Frochy is in top form right now and I don't see him losing to Pavlik.

The WBC said at the start they wouldn't enforce mandatories on the WBC champ if he had fights to fight in the tournament. It gives them more publicity I think to have the final of the Super 6 with the WBC belt on the line. For that reason I think if they do anything they will go down the Interim route. I doubt they will even go down that route as I'd imagine Pavlik may want an easier fight to ease his way into Super middleweight. Possibly against someone like Mendy for the IBO title.

Personally i think froch should not bother with pavlik and do it the old fashioned way and try his best at clear out the division

Going something like this

Johnson
Ward
Kessler (rematch in england)
Bute

Obviously its easier said than done

the hard run of fights might be ready to catch up on froch. pavlik wil be a tough match up but he should come through it? it will be a harder fight than the abraham bout.

First things first. Carl Froch has to get past the experienced Glen Johnson who absolutely walked through Allan Green to knock him out in his Super Six, I don't think Johnson will be able to do the same thing against Froch as Froch will look to try and use angles and keep Johnson at the end of his long left jab which he did against Arthur Abraham, but then again we all know that Froch sometimes likes a tear up, as he demonstrated when he fought both Jean Pascal and Mikkel Kessler, I too would like to see Froch-Kessler 2 get made as it was a thrilling fight but I reckon Froch will go for Lucian Bute instead as Showtime are showing him on their air and want him to fight the winner of the Super Six in a lucrative unifaction match with the WBA/WBC/IBF belts all for grabs which will the most lucrative fight since Kessler-Joe Calzaghe in 2007. Perhaps Froch might his wish and have that fight at the City Ground if we do get Froch-Bute.

As for Froch-Kelly Pavlik. I just see Froch making an utter mess of him, as Pavlik has not faced anyone's of Froch's power and sheer toughness.
