Herman Guy Dubé, also known as "Tiger Pyle" passed away Saturday February 5, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 81, due to complications from pneumonia. Born in Toronto and raised in Verdun, Quebec. Herman was the son of the late Henry and Graziella (Matté) Dubé. Tiger was a well known boxer in the 1950's, holding the 1955 Maritime Bantam Weight Title and the 1956 Canadian Featherweight Title. He was also a member of the Merchant Marines, a tug boat operator in Vancouver and the former owner of Dubé's Furniture Ltd., where he loved to wheel and deal, he was known for his wonderful sense of humor, always teasing everyone even strangers. Tiger was also inducted into the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame in 1988 . His most difficult fight was not it the ring, it was when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, having fought a hard fight, yet the illness eventually won. Linda would like to thank the staff of the 4600 unit at the Moncton Hospital and the staff of ProTem Health Services for the wonderful care given to Herman. He is survived by one daughter, Linda (LeBlanc) Bourque and her husband Bob Bourque of Riverview, a brother, Robert (Helen) of Vancouver, BC, several nieces and nephews and many of his old friends he met for coffee at Highfield Square. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers; Roger, Paul, Gilles, Guy, Reynald (Ray) and one sister Carmen.

At Herman's request cremation has taken place, a funeral service celebrating Herman's life will take place at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Memorial Chapel, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, (869-2007) on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11:00AM, with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. The family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home from 10:00 AM, until the time of the service on Wednesday. In Herman's memory donations to The Friend's of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, Alzheimer's Society or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
