I am taking my boxing seriously and am looking to take big fights but unlike kickboxing its not as easy to find somebody who wants to fight, no disrespect to anybody. I would love to fight some of the top big hitting guys like Michael Kirby and Lucas Browne. I am still fighting kickboxing as it is my primary source of income and i have 2 international fights scheduled this year at the moment.
I learnt a lot from my fight with Overeem and im a much better fighter for the experience.
I look forward to a very busy year on the aussie boxing scene.

Hey Ben, good to hear your wanting to make a bigger fist (excuse the pun) of things in boxing this year. We'll have to get the Tillman fight sorted for mid year mate if you guys wanna do it. He fights Kirby start of March then has a April 14th date after that we are open to sorting at a date and promotion to get it on!! :bag: :box:

Hey Ben, its good to hear from you. Through Boxrec forum Ive heard of you and now follow your fights. I think your an exciting fighter to watch in both your 2 arts.

I thought/assumed that you came back to Boxing due to that fight you had with Overeem. I thought it might have discouraged you to continue in K1 knowing that you'd most probably have to fight him for the title after you worked your way there. You've cleared that up now and I understand you will carry on in the kickbox art and that you took a lot away from that fight with Overeem.

Overeem right now is on top of his game and I think hes the best kickboxer out there at the moment (with all respect Ben). However you fought the worst Ive ever seen you fight that night Ben, so considering all that I'll still root for you if yous fought again.

You got a big match up against Leamy. Thats gonna be a goodie. Ill be rooting for Leamy 'cos I know the man and a very good christian man he is. I understand its this Friday so do your fight week routine and thanks for your time Ben, its an honour.

Doubt overreem will do too much more Kickboxing. He is a more acomplishhed MMA fighter andthe Current Strikeforce HW tournament will surely keep him busy for a while.

He has a lot of hype at the moment but he is far from dominant in the HW scene. I think he will be rematching Fabricio Werdum in his next fight. Fabricio beat him back in the Pride ddays by submission and also beat Fedor Emelienko recently.

Hard to believe Overreem was a middleweight 6 years ago

i dont think staying focused will be the problem. it'll be whether he wants to make the switch and dedicate himself to boxing.
like he has said before, theres no money in it for him. kickboxing is where he earns his cheese.

I understand, that in Australia money isn't great, as Mark De Mori has explained to me before, thats why he's chasing the big US dollars which is some serious cash, 3 or 4 fights a year there and you can live quite comfortably.

Ben needs to decide if he thinks he's good enough to chase the european and US dollars which pay a hell of a lot more than Kickboxing Australia. Theres no point coming to boxing beating up an import for a couple of minutes and collecting a couple of grand then disappearing for a few years, it's been shown in the past, you can't do both successfully.

If he's thinking only nationally than kickboxing is for him.

but kickboxing is already an international venture for him. He won the k1 regionals and went on to fight in the world k1 gp in japan. Doesn't get much bigger than that.

Ben shouldn't be worried about the money in boxing at the moment .
He has only had 3 fights, just build the record up.Then when you have a good record doors will open in OZ and overseas for money fights.
