Who will be Kell Brook's next opponent?

Post by Horse »

Most of Britain's top boxers have fights lined up, but Brook is just blabbing on about a Khan fight that isn't going to happen.

Why did he give up the British title if he isn't going to be fighting at a higher level?

It'll be another ''feather fisted never been stopped'' type that he seems to feast on.

For such a hyped young lad, he hasn't half had weak opposition to date. Makes Khan's first 15 opponents look like murderer's row by comparison.

Brook needs to get his career moving, he's had 23 fights. I think they are waiting for a weak world titile of some type to become available before shifting him up in class. Maybe the wbc silver title or the like.

Not overly impressed with his career, degale is moving through class domestic operators like a bullet, and then you have brook who is yet to be in the ring with anyone i would consider a solid boxer - jennings maybe the only exception and that was stopped with a cut.

Was disappointed with Jones when I saw him, Kell can beat him for me.

they're waiting for manny to vacate the WBO, he's already vacated the WBC light middle title, so I think Brook will have a longer wait, he should be pushing for either a euro shot or taking on some world ranked opponents otherwise he'll be stalling for a long time yet.

I thought Jones lost to Karass. I don't think it's too soon for Brook. He might as well beat the mediocre Jones while the American is still undefeated.

Brook has fought noone yet though, not that he has no chance of beating Jones, he looks like he has talent. Jones didn't look complete, and I also fought Karass won, but he had good handspeed and power. It's a pretty risky step up from a weight drained 450 ranked LM.

Maybe Malignaggi, if he can do a better job on him than AK that could start the hype machine for Brook-Khan

More this type of opponent, the classic TBA or an opponent who seems decent then changed for whatever reason to someone who is coming up in weight and cant punch.

The shame of it is the kid can fight a bit, let him develop and improve as a fighter.

I wasn't iumpressed with Mike Jones at all when I saw him, Kell Brook would hand him his ass on a plate. Really excited about Kell, it's about time some of these champs defended or vacated at 147

Better than anyone he has faced thus far. Depends how good his sparring has been etc. He's a few levels up from what Kell has been facing, Karass is a decent, experienced opponent.

Alfonso Gomez? With the winner fighting Jones for the vacant title.

I like it. A step up without being too dangerous a puncher, and I think Brook would be able to force the pace against him, while getting some rounds in.

I agree it's a few levels up, but Kells been going through his opponents with ease. i don't think we've scratched the surface of what Kell has got to offer.......... as always time will tell

And he's a decent enough name in the states as well.

I don't think Witter would be a great choice for a few reasons:
We don't really know what he has left.
He's a tricky opponent for someone with so little real experience.
Brook wouldn't look good even in winning.

Stepping a few levels up in class against a tricky southpaw doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Stepped up against Mcntyre, looked quality. Done nowt since though 'cept a close nab over Jennings on cuts. He ought to be in World Class now, has all the tools, but FW doesn;t seem interested in moving him on at all
