Mitchell - Murray still un-signed

Post by Kit »

Sorry to everyone looking forward to this one, myself included.
Speaking with someone close to Kevin, apparently as things stand this is not signed and no agreement is in place.
Unfortunately dont know the full details, hopefully Frank can please sort this one out!

Mitchell needs a few warm up fights for a murray fight.

That seems about right. John Murray is on a roll and is one handful for any lightweight in the world. Kevin needs to be at his absolute best or he'll get steam rollered.

Shame, but did seem unlikely they could make enough money without PPV for Cleverly vs Braemer and Mitchell vs Murray.

Yeah, thats reasonable and definitely sensible on Mitchell's part.

I never like it when fighters come straight into big championship fights having come back from a long period of inactivity, especially after a loss.

Dissapointing but not suprised. I think this is a fight we'll see around this time next year.

Reasons as to why it's been called off, could it be that Degale could end up on the bill?

I'm amazed to see allegedly making this fight voluntarily, he doesn't usually like putting 2 of his good fighters in together.

Is FW exasperated with Mitchell and his lack of focus prior to the Katsidis fight as it looks like Mitchell is being fed to the Wolves [spit]

As someone on here said with regards to Tyson Fury v Botha (can't quite remember who now), how can a fight which has never been on be off?

when the "news" of cleverly-braehmer and murray-mitchell emerged, i abstained from saying, "which fight isn't going to happen".

mitchell would have got murray a bigger audience/stage, but i felt mitchell is a bit suspect after the katsidis bout. i felt that mitchell - coming off such a mauling - would have turned it into a boring fight. i imagined a jennings-brook kind of fight, jennings getting a chance at brook after getting taken apart by cotto.
