O’Donnell promises to finally ‘shut Watson up’ in rematch

Post by slapbangwhallop »

O'Donnell sounds in great form, Watson was on to me today and he is equally bouyant and just had a great spar with Frankie Gavin.

Building up to be a tasty encounter and I am glad that a network has choosen to pick it up. Well done Premier!

So who do you think will win?

This is another really tough fight to call, Watson is extremely underrated and very adaptable, O'Donnell is a brilliant boxer but sometimes has lapses in concentration which i think Watson could take full advantage off. Also O'Donnell likes people to wait on him so he can fight at his own pace and pick his nice sharp long punches, but I don't see Watson waiting on him I see him pushing O'Donnell back with clever aggression to not leave himself open to counters. Watson close decision for me.

I only saw o'donnell against tom glover. He looked great but tom was a bit static & looked too small. Watson is a tuff boy tho. Should be very good, I can't pick a winner

I'm going for Watson. Thought he won the first fight. He seems to have improved since their first fight as well. I'm going to be backing him outright at evens and I think I'll be having a cheeky go on Watson by ko/tko/dq at 8/1. O'Donnell really needs to learn to use his jab more. He's a 6 foot 2 welterweight but choses to crouch and wade in with short hooks and uppercuts. Great to watch but it leaves him open.

I go for O'Donnell to do the double. Watson will give any British Welterweight an awkward nights work, but I don't think he's improving anymore, and I feel John hasn't reached his pinnacle yet.

O'Donnell was just a bit too much for Watson last time, but with a good win since over Terrence Cauthen, John will have gained more to his game and win a bit clearer this time.

Watson for me. O'Donnell can be a bit lazy & i think Watson will work for 3 minutes of every round. A wafer thin points victory.
