I agree with the point your making im not trying ot make it out that he is a world beater and thats why i mentioned that Mitchell and Rees would be terrible matchups for Derry imo. The point i was trying to make was that for a fighter of his calibre it would be a shame if he never got the chance to take part in a British title fight win or lose.

it is a tough weight..when Derry beat Lawton the only way he can poss go is for the british...but id be surprised if his promoter put him forward against say Rees....i can just see him defending his ibo african title with nobodys

Yes that slightly worries me because there is a nice little niche in Liverpool for Derry as he can sell 1500 tickets and make himself and his promoter a nice bit of cash without going anywhere and this ibo would suggest that its a case of try and get a title to defend and ibo is a "world" title. I hope this is not the case however Derry deserves to mix it with the best at LW domestically and he can go back to the Olympia even if it goes tits up.

Surely Murray, Rees and Mitchell are going to be aiming higher than the British? If so, Derry could get a few fights under him, then go for it, where I'd tip him to beat anyone over 12, even Buckland.

I think someone like Lee McAllister would be perfect atm, with the winner fighting for the British.
