the geezer held the british champ to a draw & gavin was handling mcdonagh better :!: cooks a top fighter & former lightweight king at euro level, it is a massive scalp domestically.
Taken at about a week's notice.

I think frankie ain't even got close too showing what he's capable of. He's on a different level to cook. I'll buy all the boxrec boys a pint if I'm wrong on this . Even daws is only British level. Gavins going farther than that. More chance of me beating skeete than frankie losing this! Lol

that he has been active & dont need to boil down to lww.

maybe cook aint been in the gym & has been given grace due to late notice & might be a bag of pooh??? are you suggesting he is un-proffesional & wont be at the races.

Not at all, all I'm saying is that a 6-week prepared Cook is a better version than one with only 6 days notice. He hasn't been able to train for Gavin - he might well be fit, but you know what I'm saying. The chances are that he's unprepared for Gavin, and that's not going to help him at all.

Look forward to the fight, good luck mate.

Bit of a risk, 5 months out going into a 12-rounder, timing may take a while - Cook can hit, he'll be working on winding up the book looping left over your low right lead...circle left mate, as Arnie will be drumming into you!

Makes sense to me. Best defense is anticipating the punch and getting out of the way. Was always a criticism I had of Arthur Abraham, he may have his hands high but he can't see shots coming.

I think it's a cracking match, Cook is still live enough to make it interesting.

[quote="mickey1975"]Basically.if he beats Cook(who drew with Daws),Williams(who got stopped by Daws) will be a step down.I think there will only be fasteddie who wants the fight, the rest of us will be calling for Daws![

i didnt mention gavin faceing williams i started commenting on a comment made by gavin in reference to williams being a step down,he didnt say a step down from cook he said take a step down to face williams, williams has fought for the british title so in theory williams would be taking a step down to face gavin if he beats cook.

its simple, we would put the same amount of money in the pot, if gavin wins id take it all and if williams wins you take it all, if its a draw or a no contest we get our own money back, so if your confident your double your money ! the amount of confidence you have will be measured by the amount you bet, you started the idea so you tell me the amount your willing to loose and ill match it, we can do it via the betting against each other website (ive forgotten the name of it), i personally cant see the fight happening but if it does you know where to find me :TU:

Not knocking you, Gav, but this reminds me of Clev/Oakey - another fighter who was due to fight a few weeks after the Clev fight but was so underprepared going in against a class prospect. That ended in a wide UD and I expect the same here. I also still stand by what I said - beating Cook doesn't deserve a title shot afterwards.

After Cook I'd like to see him in with Lynes next.

that makes sense to me, I've always carried me hands low & as yet have not been stopped on a head shot in 65, been in with quality too. It always feels better when I'm nice & relaxed
