Wood versus Mundine Rematch Mooted

Post by Beltane »

Looks like the rematch will be announced soon in Brisbane:

No doubt a PPV, so protect your ears for a hurly-burly of hyperbole from camp Mundine!

Wow, how predictable this all was. Poor suckers will pay for this thinking they are watch a real fight.

Munduine will get the win here an if we are lucky we will get the 3rd instalment....Everyone get's rich and no one actually fights a legit opponent

  a third fight, you are pulling our leg. As if team Mundine would just try to make money. I hear Mundine is going to fight Cotto or Alverez.

Wow, really exciting stuff :o Who cares really? We all know the script, and it's just pathetic. I've heard that if wood wins this, his next few opponents will be on a national level, and a national title will be in the mix......whats this say about Mundine, the self proclaimed worlds greatest, the man who beat him wants to test the waters here still in Australia?

i don't blame Wood for taking a fight against a man he knows he can beat. What makes anybody think the aging Mundine will do any better this time?

this is a very good payday for wood, of course hes going to take it. and mundine needs redemption.

i reckon it will do well on main event.

on a different note, i noticed there is no fox show this fri?> i thought they were going every 2 weeks this year?

I just hope the undercard is limited to 5 or 6 quality fights. Is that too much to ask?

i didnt watch the last one and there is a huge chance i wont be watching this one either. unless we have a miracle and the undercard looks good, then i may try and go watch live seeing its up here.
i had to have a chuckle to myself when they showed mundine talking on fox sports news just a few minutes ago, his title under the name was "IBO WORLD MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION". thought that changed hands already, so he is no longer claiming an international title as world title, but claiming a world title thats held by someone else, haha :TU:

what a SCAM, good on Woods, funny if he did it again, Mundine must be lining his pockets before he heads to the USA, and conquers the world.

wood proved last time what most of us knew, mundine is finished. im not sure mundines body will stand up to another tough gruelling match against someone as strong and relentless as garth. if mundine manages to win he will more than likley absorb plenty of punishment in the process, thus weakeninig him even more for any potential rubber match. garth is not scared of mundine but i think mundine may now be a little scared of wood. i agree with bute, wood KNOWS he can win and deserves to start the favorite in this one

mundine won every round up until the KO last time....this time he'll just get on his bike for 10 rounds and prolly win at least 8 rounds.

Thank fark for that, I'm yet to see Wood in a good fight, i can't stand watching people get away with foul after foul, and the constant grappling/holding, punch's to the back of the head ect just really irk me, it's good that every being wants Wood to succeed but at what cost? To have Boxing considered an ugly art, a streetfight sport coupled with League.....thanks but no thanks.

Has anyone thought that this is actually the first time Mundine has attempted and actually has gone thru with a rematch after being defeated.

Mundine how ever he wants this time. I would say there will be and should be a fair bit of focus on the fouls, if not the refering standards here are just not up to par with the rest of the world.

yeah i agree hounddawg...props to mundine for taking the rematch, especially since people have criticised his self belief issues in the past (kessler, golovkin, etc).

at the end of the day he has far superior boxing skills to wood.

I don't think it's a self belief issue in this case, the whole thing seems like a gee up
