Jim Watt Question.

Post by KOJOE90 »

Does anyone know was Charlie Nash the only fighter to score a knockdown over Jim Watt as a professional?

Scanning through his record there, I'm pretty certain he took counts against Angus McMillan and Perico Fernandez.

I think Arguello put him over as well.

Yes, Arguello had him down once with a well-timed straight right hand.

As a Scot and someone who lives quite close to Jim Watt I was not very popular when I bet money on Arguello flooring Jim in the 7th.

Alexis did just that, but hats off to Watt he got up and took the Nicaraguan the 15 rounds.

Lost his title but boy I won a small fortune that night.

Like I said Jim lives about half a mle from me and is friendly with my son's girlfriends family.

What way he commentates you'd be forgiven for thinking he was impossible to hit during his career....

My guess is a shopping channel, seem to have loads of presenters on each of these.

That's what I have heard to.

A friend of mines mother and aunty met Jim Watt in a restuarant in Glasgow, they were sat at the table next to Jim and his family and they got talking to him after they had all finished eating.

This was during his fighting days, my friends mother said Jim Watt was a total gent and a pleasure to talk to.
