I really dont see him getting to 18 stone. I bet he'll be 18 and a half or something.

I know, but that where he should be.

Of course it is possible. He has done it before and is on 6 foot 2.

I disagree mate, Danny couldnt make 17 stone if he lived ina sweat suit for a month.

Your body changes as you get older and your natural build gets heavier i doubt Danny has been 17 stone since he was in his early 20's.

it like me saying i could get back down to 11, I couldnt withouth starving myself for 2 months.

Boxrec has him listed as 234 for the Long fight. Not sure thats right though he was way over 250 either side of it.

Could it be 243 entered in error?

I'd say the best Williams could is 17-10. I'd expect him to be 18-2 to maybe 18-7 for this one.....

Williams is built like a barn. He's miles wide and thick with it. He'd look almost fit if he came in at 17 stone.

I agree with the sentiment that 18 stone and just under is perhaps his optimum weight. But his weight is less of a factor than his mindset, as ever. He's in for a rough night with Skelton, but if he shows the balls he did against Klitschko then Skelton could punch himself out.

Every time a boxer shows very heavy for a big fight, you know he doesnt think he can win and didnt even bother trying to get in shape. They use it as an excuse in case they lose.

When Tua came 245 against Lewis, or Tyson 234.5 against Lewis, I knew they will only show up to cash a check and stay there and get a shelling. Similar to Williams agaisnt Vitali.

If Williams comes lighter, at 250 ^he has a better chance. But I doubt he has the discipline to do it.
He is right, some weight will add to his strength. But only if he carries it well. And he doesnt. He should be below 255 in every fight.

It wouldnt be so bad if it was all muscle. But one look at Williams and you can tell he has pretty high bodyfat. I would say between 15-20%. For the average man thats alright but not for an athlete.

He could get that down below 10% and he'd be lean mean and about 17 to 17 and a half stone.

There's no reason at all for Danny to be so heavy, it hasn't helped him in any of his performances. In fact I can't remember any fights involving any heavies where a load of additional bulk did anything but hinder them really. I'm always surprised at a fitness stickler like Jim MacDonnell for tolerating it.
Danny is not actually that tall so he should never be more than about 17.5 stone.
