Re: Update
Totally agree Frankie.
It seems that boxing has gone 'title mad'...........You fighting Lomax and Big larry fighting McDermott are 2 very decent 12 round fights which boxing fans will appreciate. Do we need Commonwealth and Eliminators at every show? Let the fighters show what they can do, regardless of titles

Re: Update
Think Sky demand either Lonsdale/Commonwealth title atleast to headline their shows so its probably down to them

Re: Update
Regardless of the punters who have bought tickets? Its outrageous............2 perfectly good, entertaining fights we are being denied for ridiculous reasonssaturday_kid wrote:Think Sky demand either Lonsdale/Commonwealth title atleast to headline their shows so its probably down to them
Re: Update
Lomax is an excellent replacement at short notice. Furthermore he was in training for Purdy so he will be in great shape. It will be a tough test for Frankie at this stage of his career regardless of whether a title is on the line. I think the card still looks pretty good with Mcdermott v Olubamiwo also taking place.
Re: Update
what if its not televised ! i know its not ideal but atleast the show goes on.
Re: Update
Is your fight going to be over 12 rounds Frankie and an eliminator?
Re: Update
Thing is here i would pay to watch Frankie against a good well trained Domestic rival,im pretty sure watching him against some import who i know nothing about is as good.
Who ever said that its good fights that matter not a title attached got it spot on.
Speaking to people in the boxing community and they are a lot more excited by frankie fighting a genuine in form british welter than they are watching a meaningless title fight.
Lets see more of these domestic dust ups that make you think and actualy have to keep an eye on both sides.
I know some of the sky guys come on here and i would much rather watch some good domestic tear ups than a poor fight with a belt attached.

Re: Update
Gavin v Lomax and Olubawimo v McDermott are two satisfying fights and would be ideal TV contests.
It seems Sky are more interested in mismatch title fights rather than well-matched contests.
Would be interesting to see what Ed Robinson has to say.

Re: Update
2 good fights hopefully it comes off…
Gavin has been brought along very well not quite as emphatically as DeGale (But the LWW division is stronger domestically) but his opposition is gradually improving. McDonough is a very impressive win by the way he did it and then Kelly and now hopefully Lomax and then winning that maybe Williams or Cook before nailing down a British title shot.
