Beeb o'clock!
Beeb o'clock!
So, now that Bellew's night on Sky Sports has gone tits up, Khan's half arsed attempt at making his homecoming a big deal being on Box Office, Premier Sports are charging for their night, as are ESPN and Super Channel and Showtime online, I ask you:
Is now the time for the BBC to make a U-turn with boxing?

More chance of platting shit
Re: Beeb o'clock!
Apologies Lefty, I deleted a sentence and missed a bit. Pretty sure there is no 'Showtime Online'. However, if the BBC got their act together I could watch i-player when I'm on nights!

What is this Super Channel I have heard about? Internet only?
Re: Beeb o'clock!
My understanding is that it's a Canadian online subscription channel, showing British fights. Not sure about prices though.stujones wrote:What is this Super Channel I have heard about? Internet only?

Re: Beeb o'clock!
I'm attending a talk with Barbara Slater, the director of BBC sport on March 1st and I'm planning to ask some questions about boxing. If anyone has anything they want asking let me know.
Re: Beeb o'clock!
Does she prefer Barbara or Babs?
Lead with that.
Lead with that.

Re: Beeb o'clock!
The BBC are run by people who love golf and tennis - they happily show eight hours of that crap because that is what they want to watch - ratings be damned and what the people want. Boxing will never ever come big time back to the BBC - it wouldn't suprise me within the next ten years that they ban it from their channels like a lot of national broadcasters around Europe.grannyman wrote:So, now that Bellew's night on Sky Sports has gone tits up, Khan's half arsed attempt at making his homecoming a big deal being on Box Office, Premier Sports are charging for their night, as are ESPN and Super Channel and Showtime online, I ask you:

Re: Beeb o'clock!
Can you ask why they like to show the amateurs, especially in the build up to the Olympics and then they will no doubt cover the Olympic boxing to the extent where the team are household names (especially the medallists) only to then let them fade from the public radar
