I know there are a great many honest, hardworking travellers in the UK and it was wrong of me to make the comment I did. I was just a bit sickened by Gypsy Weddings and the John Fury assault.

When bully boy was being interviewed at the end of the 'fight' he was so embarrassed that he threatened the camera crew. His only good moment was his sucker punch, what a toad he was. I have watched a few of those kind of fights on DVD and honestly they all look shite. Game obviously but I put that down to inbreeding, drink and utter stupidity. Mostly total mismatches between local hero and a mutant who doesn't give a toss about himself.

I think Paddy Doherty is the best built gypsy Ive seen.

I said earlier; what goes around comes around. Paddy will have caused some pain and broke a few bones in his time and he'll get it back now he's slowed down some. I dare say that more than a few of those he's battered had no chance at all or the dispute could've been settled a different way. Lots of the hardmen don't fight at their level; they're happiest hammering those who just cant fight.

Henry Francis was a terrific fighter from all accounts though he must be getting on in years now; a man I know is friends with Joe Boy Gaskin and he is a very tough customer but he came up short at Appelby horse fair.

I knew as I was writing it that it could be misinterpreted! It was just a gut instinct I had based on some of his observations - not a big-headed guy, but just got the sense he'd been 'around' based on some of the people he knew and some of his anecdotes.. had the ring of truth rather than internet hard man about them!

According to my father whose in his 60s ...he knew their father who was murdered ...my dad says wally was the better of the two but both could fight by all accounts , they both where much lighter than Gormans tho !
