A Riddle...
I was caught out by this one, though in retrospect, I feel I should've put it together. Oh, well. Maybe you can do better.
Q: What do Riddick Bowe, Rocky Marciano & Gene Tunney have in common which no other former HW Champions do?

Not the answer, guys. Remember, the answer is specific only to these three.

Sounds like a winner as long as it isn't including paper champions like Valuev.

Well, maybe I'll steal his thunder with: The only retired Heavyweight champions never to have been knocked out or stopped.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Sounds like a winner as long as it isn't including paper champions like Valuev.

You're a better man than I am. As soon as I heard the answer, I knew it to be true. Everyone else had lost at some point inside the distance.p4p1 wrote:The only heavyweight champs to have never been knocked out or stopped

Re: A Riddle...
.....so do we have to expand this to Valuev? Or wait to exclude him when he is stopped before he retires from the ring...
here's hoping....

It was pretty remarkable that he didn't get stopped by Golota considering the horrendous beating he took in that fight from the first round.BoxBuzz wrote:.....so do we have to expand this to Valuev? Or wait to exclude him when he is stopped before he retires from the ring...

To be fair, you could also say it was pretty remarkable Marciano avoided a stoppage defeat in his rematch with Charles, & that Tunney was lucky the long-count intervened to save him from a potential KO loss in his return with Dempsey, so it evens out somewhat.Diamond WEAPON wrote:It was pretty remarkable that he didn't get stopped by Golota considering the horrendous beating he took in that fight from the first round.BoxBuzz wrote:.....so do we have to expand this to Valuev?
