Unfortunately I didn't see the Maidana fight, but Khan has always been susceptible to temple shots; his actual chin hasn't been the problem, has it? Did Maidana land any good temple shots?

Firstly, you need to go and watch it on YouTube; you will not regret it, mate. Fight of the year. Secondly, it's hard to say where he took the flush shot -IMO, it looked to land on the side of his napper, and his legs left him straight away. To me, though, ''temple shots" are euphemistic to judging someone's chin, anyhow.

Yeah, I know what you mean. If someone gets knock down/out often by punches to their head, wherever they land, they're chinny. I do think it's possible Khan's chin isn't that bad, but his equilibrium is messed up relatively easily from temple shots (like Haye, perhaps).

I'll see if I can download the fight. It's the first Khan fight I haven't seen since 2006! :o

Saulerland can't cash Povetkin's ass quick enough.

It's almost like they think he isn't much cop and need to get him the big fight asap before he loses to a bum.

Did you see Povetkin's last fight? He went to war with Firtha. I bet Haye was licking his lips at that.

That is what I'm saying. Khan is chinny - it's improved but it's still what it is. Do you not agree with that?
I'd say vulnerable rather than chinny. Chinny is getting floored by Drilzane (zero KO wins), almost knocked out by Limond and dropped by super-feather Gomez. Vulnerable is getting rocked by a top 5-ranked puncher.

Drilzane? I wasn't even sure that was a KD; I was under the impression that Khan slipped when on the ropes. All the reports I've read on that fight state that, but if you can show me otherwise, then fine. Also, vunerable to me is chinny sugar-coated. I believe he's chinny, you don't - that's the crux.

Just watched the fight between Khan and Maidana. The time he was in real trouble was from an overhand right to his temple. It's the temple shots that get to him, I tell ya.

But surely that means he still has a questionable chin, not a questionable temple. Or is Khan 'temply'?

I have that word patanted now.

:box:

Good fight, huh?

Yep, good fight. I would have loved it live (not knowing the result). :TU:
