Post by chiggsy »

Junior was a cracker in his day but he looked effing awful tonight.
Was knackered after 4 rounds and clung on for dear life after the 4th.

Absolutely shameful performance. All he did was hold. Looked exhausted from early on. How a guy who was a WBC champion boxes like that makes you weep against a completely average fighter. Either totally unfit, shot, or both.
Thank god he didn't fight Khan, it would have lasted 30 seconds.

Lost by a unanimous decision (was announced as a majority but they corrected it).

The day was already bad for Hennessey. This has capped it off and probably a day he should really forget. O Donnell, Daws and Witter all lost.

Witter has to be finished. He should retire now because people can look back at his record and go: He didn't lose to bad fighters.

I don't think so. Too much talent in the lower weights.

So you would fancy Watson and Vassell to beat him?

I didn't see the fight, so I don't know how bad he looked.

Definitely.

Jennings, Lynes, Theopane (If he stayed on the scene), Vassell, O'Donnell.

Fancy them all.

Witter looked really poor mate. Nothing in the tank early on. Matthew Hatton would have embarrassed him if the mooted fight came off.

Surely they knew he was crap in the gym.

Wouldn't a fight against Matthew Hatton have made him more money? I was looking forward to that fight.

Jesus christ, this guy was a total no name he fought. Sounds like he wasnt in shape whatsoever. Some of these boxers are disgraceful. Get out of the ring and retire, idiot.

If I was any decent welterweight in the country - Watson, Vassell - offer Witter a fight as great chance to get a name of their record.

He was unbelievably bad in this fight. Could not believe how horrible he looked from even the Alexander fight.

He looked in control for the first 4 rounds or so without doing to much but was then suddenly exhausted and did nothing for the rest of the fight but hold on for dear life and fall down about a dozen times. I certainly have no interest in seeing him again, not even domestic level fights. Unfortunately its the end of the road for Witter, it was a sad way to go out.

Ricky has more left than Junior, thats how bad Junior was. He could have even be thrown out for his negativity.

I can't believe anyone is surprised. He has been garbage for ages and I've no idea why anyone in their right mind would want to watch one of his fights.

witter really is an odd one, so hot and cold in his day, and now seemingly totally shot after a career that included virtually no wars/'ageing fights'. I know that's not exactly the litmus test for how shot someone is, but his form seemed to fall away alarmingly, even given how erratic he was.

He looked truly awful, not sure if there is any point in continuing, hopefully he invested well from his very good years as its hard to see where he goes,. I hope he does the right thing
as he was gassed after four rounds and fell to the canvas numerous times, the other guy was average at best.

I have a horrible feeling someone may lure him into one more semi big fight but hopefully not.

When Junior was going through that patch of knocking everyone out he was great to watch but its just not there now.

Been a great career WBC champ and all that.
