That kid looks quality, I'd never seen either before but would be good to see Morgan in with someone busier who throws more shots, Deakin was tough but fairly easy to hit. Morgan looks like if he trains it right he could develop some good power.MatthewS wrote:Morgan pts 40 - 36... Diff class good jab and bodyshots
York hall as it happens if i remember

Re: York hall as it happens if i remember
as Johnny said himself, the other bloke much too big for him, rangy fcuker he was too, had Johnny, not hurt as such, but aware of his power, shall we say, early on. Pick on someone your own size, Skeete.MatthewS wrote:Rsf 4 skeete wins. Greaves down 2nd 3rd never in it :(
Re: York hall as it happens if i remember
A forgettable fight really, Smith hasnt got massively quick hands but landed flush a couple of times, Turner never blinked though. Lets the defence go when he's right on top of someone, it seems.MatthewS wrote:Turner pts 40 - 36 not much clean landed
Re: York hall as it happens if i remember
as I said above, 40-37, so one round even.whicker wrote:Heffron v Macauley was a good one- 40-36 no doubt.
Macauley didnt have the power to trouble Heffron so Heff took shots he didnt need to, but he got the job done. As long as his chin holds up he'll never be in a bad fight. Looked like he copped a bollocking ringside from Fwank for it tho but I couldn't hear what was said, just that Warren didn't look over the moon.
Re: York hall as it happens if i remember
May I say too, that I thoroughly enjoyed that. First fight aside, the fights were controlled perfectly (see my proviso above) and were good matches in terms of the level of opposition (apart from the size difference between Skeete and Greaves). Nice civilised finish time as well, fcuk going on a Friday compared to that, got back to civilisation (Rainham) for about 10pm, quick Ruby in the local place, home by 11.30, great evening, I'd go to that every week.

What did you reckon to the atmosphere? Wasn't quiet but seemed a bit lacking for the main. Don't know if the Larry result stunned a few people or whether all Gavin's fans stayed in the bar too long or what.
Re: York hall as it happens if i remember
Anti-climax I think plus styles etc... Gavin isnt a massive ticket shifter by the look of things, I know a couple of people left after the Larry fight... Lomax fans would have already paid for Wembley, how many scousers didnt make the trip in the end... etc etc etcorbtastic wrote:What did you reckon to the atmosphere? Just behind the refs and officials in the green ringside seats in line with the red (?) corner (Larry, Gavin, Heffron, Skeete)MatthewS wrote:Anti-climax I think plus styles etc... The irony was the two girls we were with that booked a restaurant table at half 9 actually wanted to stay and watch all the fights, they both got well into it. Luckily the Gavin fight didn't go the full distance.
I liked the Heffron fight but he made it hard for himself.
I heard loads of Brum lads but they were still in the bar as Gavin was fighting. A load of Wembley ticket holders came in in front of us and we ended up with a load of Lomax fans from waht they were saying...although the 4 "fans" behind us didn't appear to recognise him.
Did you see Honeyghan at the back of the hall in his full on pimp outfit?
