Big John McDermott - What Next?

Heard last night he was his heaviest he's been for a while. Could this be because he wasn't as hungry for this fight after his recent run? I don't know, but he certainly looked hungry in the ring last night and afterwards.

Interesting to interesting that he had Glandular Fever for the Fury rematch. He's certainly put himself back in the mix and I hope Maloney can get him a title shot of some sort. He's a good, humble guy and deserves a bit of luck.

I'd like to see him rematch Fury, but Fury won't have any of it. Maloney won't put him in with Price or Dallas, and Chisora may vacate. Maybe he can go in with Sexton? Or if Chisora vacates then maybe a rematch with Fury for the British title as I think Fury is mandatory challenger isn't he?

See no reason why he is not either next or after Fury for a tilt at Chisora, seems a logical order but whether it will happen that way who knows

He deserves a crack at a title, maybe Commonwealth against Sexton if Chisora vacates! If he doesn't vacate either then you've still got Fury, Sexton and possible Rogan ahead of him in the line for a shot, which is a shame because he is unbelievably unlucky!

He should defend his southern area against Tom Dallas, pricey can't fight for the southern Area Title, if he beats Dallas (I don't think he would) then he has beat one of the best prospects, and will deserve a crack at a bigger title ie British or commonwelth

I can't see the point of McDermott vs Skelton II.

McBride is in terrible shape, slow as anything. If John lasts the first round then John will have him and knock him out.

Sosnowski - who for me, is actually the best British based Heavyweight outside of Haye would be way too much for John McDermott. Sosnowski isn't the biggest heavyweight, but neither is John (height and reach).

Sprott outboxes him also, but that might be a good fight. I aint convinced Sprott has the power to hurt McDermott, and McDermott will keep at him (which Sprott doesn't like).

I still think Skelton vs McDermott is a good fight, it is one I'm sure John would like to have also. I think Skelton would be too early for Dallas, but not Price - but maybe Price would also need holding back a tadge - cause a win over Skelton and people will be talking Sexton, Chisora etc - and thats too far at this stage.

you obviously dont know your boxing, macdermott is a slod and the war machine was so novice like its unbelievable, if thats your idea of good boxing then i pity you.

John does he running dont worry about that, we do the same runs together mixing it up during the week from sprints to 8 miles 6 days aweek, John has always been Fat since iv know him as a Kid. He can do 12 rounds on his head, he is super fit.... I do agree he could do with losing a stone and toning the rest up but i would prefer to look like John then Larry and be on the winning side

He does amaze me that he is a fit lad (and I believe his glandular fever for the Fury rematch - which he was uncharacteristically blowing). I don't think you can dispute his fitness, its not prime Holyfield quality (otherwise, he would have finished off Danny in fight one) but it aint bad. He must be one of these low metabolism types, or eat bad food.

Tells us he eats good. He does like to tell a porky or two tho but thats John, tells us he eats good.. The runs we do is great The way the man trains is unreal the sweat that comes out of him is unbelievable So the only other thing it can be is his Diet....
