How so? I dont understand what the fuss over Murray is about. Good fighter does everything well but nothing great imo will be at the top end of the domestic level for a good few years but i can't see him going beyond that.

macklins looked bad in his last 2 fights but i cant see how murray would beat him, smith if makes the cut properly would beat murray aswell, ive seen alot of murray live and i think he'll be a good domestic fighter but not much further

I know Macklin won the euro title, but i dont think hes any better than a top domestic fighter, same as Smith...As ive said id favour Murray against either if hes giving the chance...Barker is above all mentioned in my eyes...

Barker too good, certainly at this stage, but with Macklin looking elsewhere, maybe Barker-Murray will have to be Darren's big domestic fight.

I think Paul Smith Darren Barker and Matt Macklin all at middle there is really very little to choose between the lot. I would say Murray is at a slightly lower level than those three

Barker by tko late. Murray is tough but very predictable with his left to the body he constantly throws it, he taps the left to the head then goes down stairs against a classy operator like barker he will read him like a book

Martin stoppage, hw can you all start slaggin off a boxer who hasnt been beat he can only beat whos in front of him and hes been pushing for barker and macklin but having no joy, maybe the better the opponent the better we'll see of murray, think the only advantage barker has is slightly faster hands, think martin would be too strong for him, either way its a good fight id like to see happen martin needs some big domestic fights to boost his profile and too see his full potential,

For starters, no-one is slagging him off at all - calling him good not great is very different from saying he's shit. Just because some of us would favour Barker, isn't a negative on Murray at all. Furthermore, most of us are willing to remain open-minded, and if Murray puts in some strong performances I'm sure people will re-evaluate their opinion of him.
And here's the thing you need to understand - a forum is all about different opinions. Just because they don't agree with yours doesn't make them wrong.
You know the one thing I really am bored to death with on this forum? People who pop up out of nowhere, and who only come on to go on about one boxer and slag off anyone who doesn't agree with them, and then disappear as soon as the sh*t hits the fan. Find somewhere else to play mate if that's going to be your attitude as we've seen it all before too many times.

That's fair enough mate, you've just got to understand it gets a bit tiring over the years when supporters of various fighters pop up, make about 10 posts telling everyone they're idiots if they don't agree that the fighter they support is going to be the best since Sugar Ray Robinson, and then disappear again. Not saying that you're going to be like that, but when you start off by accusing people of "slagging off" Murray, I'm sure you're bright enough to see that it can look like that :TU:

I've not seen enough of Murray to decide if he'd beat Barker. Murray looks a big middleweight and has strength, power and looks to have a decent chin; he does get in good shape as well. Barker is class but has had a lot of out of the ring problems and big bouts not coming off. I'm not sure if he's still improving or not.

IMO a fit and healthy Darren Barker is the only British Middle that is likely to crack the ranks of "world class" . The only downfall with him is his proneness to injury and general lack of notoriety to anybody outside of the boxing community. I think he may end up being Britains next Carl Froch whilst others hold the limelight.

Murray looks decent, and i look forward to seeing him step up another level this year, really do think he should target a fight with Paul Smith at 160 if smigga moves back down, Murrays a big lad and could definitely drag paul into the trenches and out fight him....hmmm seriously liking the sound of it the more i think of it.

At this stage Barker is to much.
