Steve Collins isn't British.

To answer your question, I would say Nigel Benn.

Benn's not fought for 15 years.....and he last fought at middleweight 20 years ago.

For the sake of the thread I'll assume you mean super middle in addition to middleweight?

If so, then it's Froch, who just pips Calzaghe.

If it's just middleweight then it's Eastman.

I fail to see how a man born in Dublin could be called British, I'm sure you can troll out an answer.

Novemeber. Nearly 15 years ago. He got pasted. Not really the sort of form you want for the best middleweight of the last 15 years?

Howard Eastman was top of the tree for quite a while; he'd have taken some beating in his prime.

Scott Dann was getting better and better until injury got too bad; we don't know how good he'd have got. (I know Howard bested Scott which shows how good Eastman was).

I never know how to anwser these types of question, because I'm not sure whether it means a fighter who has turned pro & risen to prominence inside of the last 15 years, or someone who has fought & performed well in the last 15 years, even though they may have been active & at the top long before that.

As it is about middleweights, then Howard Eastman is it.

Herol Graham could also be considered as an MW that has fought inside the timespan, but he peaked outside of the last 15 years, so it has to be Eastman IMHO.

The Dark Destroyer wrote:Who was the best? Joe Calzaghe, without question. He isn't my personal favourite, but he was the best of the lot and I think he had the beating of every single one of the others mentioned.

If its middleweights then Howard Eastman is the best in Britain over the last 15 years. Including super middles Calzaghe number 1 and Froch number 2, Benn and Eubank were well past their best in 1996

Carl Froch. Other than that, Chris Eubank - great boxer. Weird shaped head. Punches used to sort of slide off.

Joe Calzaghe. He'd have beaten everyone on that list.Tremendous speed, fantastic stamina, could change tactics in a fight and could take a hell of a shot.Froch is good, but got beat by a faded version of Kessler, who Calzaghe really had no trouble with whatsoever after round 4.He faced a better version of Kessler too.
