Ricky Hatton visits the British Army boxng team
Ricky Hatton made a surprise visit to the British Army boxing team's new headquarters in Aldershot on Tuesday. He was there to see them train for the up coming Combined Services Championships on March 10th which will be shown live on Hatton TV and British Forces Broadcasting, enabling troops in Afghanistan to watch their mates in action.
Ricky trained with the Army boxers, offered advice and signed autographs during his two and a half hour visit to Aldershot.

Re: Ricky Hatton visits the British Army boxng team
Anybody know if Ricky is off the drink and drugs these days? Has he got his promoters license back now?
Re: Ricky Hatton visits the British Army boxng team
I've not seen any pictures of him on the front of a tabloid snorting coke whilst cheating on his Missus lately, so he may be on the the straight and narrow................ or he may be getting better at hiding it (ala Calzaghe)johnswan1 wrote:Anybody know if Ricky is off the drink and drugs these days? good to see the hitman doing this for the squaddies, but lets not forget, it also shine ricky in a good light as he had an awful 2010 and has some rebuilding to do.

The point is that he doesn't really have to do anything does he ? He could retire quietly and never give anything back to the sport. But instead he's pulled his finger out (and his wallet) and helped give plenty of fighters work. So there can't be much wrong with giving the army boys a few tips and passing on his experience. I should think he made their day walking in like that........kevinmalpas wrote:good to see the hitman doing this for the squaddies, but lets not forget, it also shine ricky in a good light as he had an awful 2010 and has some rebuilding to do.

ricky's heart is in the right place & he's very patriotic & will love being apart of this, but he has a buisness & advisors who are setting up sites & charging for people to watch small budget show's, so this does help & if he wasnt doing it know one would so

if he did nothing his reputation would be in tatters due to the front page of the newspaper.maxicarter wrote:The point is that he doesn't really have to do anything does he ? Think your a bit out of order, have`nt we all made mistakes. Ricky has given us some great nights, and I think he`s putting something back in to the sport.

I remember getting nearly 700 mad squaddies to Ricky's fight with Carlos Maussa - he was dam good to them - allowed me to take a few in the changing room to see his preparations etc etc.
Good to see Hatton Promotions doing some PR with The Army - but there again - no one can sell tickets to the lads like Mr Spud can
