well didnt you hear from him when he spoke after the fight on sky tv? Or does he need to repeat himself to u personally on a boxing forum? Show some respect to the fighters, they have a lot going on at the best of times, let alone when there is a sudden upheavel in their proffesional career like larry experienced, i know the mans been on here since to reply and state all is well, but still i could have seen this thread go the way of the smigga one if it werent for everyone else being respectful
I'm struggling to see why you find KeithMoonHangovers post so offensive

Like someone else said Larry your living the dream just by bein a pro, winning an area title is something to be very proud of and always look back. Thats what does my head in with this forum sometimes, people think unless your the second coming of sugar ray leonard your a failure, when in actual fact just to have 1 pro fight is something to be very proud of.

Anyways all the best Larry, good luck for the future

Larry you have earned the respect of many of us on here and we will continue to support you , get over the loss and get back in the gym , if you fail to make it to british title level in the end then as long as you gave it your best attempts no one can criticise you , nor would anyone be too critical if you feasted on a couple of nobodies in your next 2 or 3 fights to get a bit of confidence back , your a good guy , youve got the backing of the boxrec forum , next time your boxing keep us informed , i have personally bought tickets to a show in the past just because you were on it , i was considering beforehand but your name sealed the deal for me having spoken to you on here ,it was at harvey hadden stadium in Nottingham around a year or so ago .

Theres more to boxing than titles , good fights and personalities sell tickets to shows . :TU:

I think it shows character if a boxer comes back on the forum after a defeat. Especially like the one Larry had vs Big John. Respect to Larry. Others have not come back on and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth because you know they would have been on gloating if they had won.

Agreed. McDermott has always been good his problem is the weight he's carrying. Even when he's fat he's got a pretty decent workrate and is far from slow; it frustrates me that he simply never bothers his arse to diet properly and make the best of his considerable talent. I'd love it if he could step it up a level or two because he is a really decent lad. And before anybody says anything about body type or he does this or that and everything else and the weight still won't come off, bollocks. If you diet properly, weight comes off; if you don't diet properly, it doesn't. Simple.

As to Larry. He'll be back. Maloney was moving him at the right pace for a guy who is new to the game. Warren has a more sink or swim mentality - especially with guys who don't sell a boat load of tickets. It was a bit too soon for the McDermott fight as Larry's fundamentals still need a fair bit of tightening up. As I said in another topic, he needs to get back in the gym and box and box and box... He should also get every Earnie Shavers fight he can get his hands on and look at how Earnie used to fight and keep himself covered up.
i agree with you 100%... :TU:

Yep im with you lot :TU:

Sanchez was a class act, look how he took apart Gomez, I wouldn't call it a humbling myself, Nelson was quite green at the time.

Yes i did get the BBBofC to mandate this fight as McDermott manangement ask for this fight and i could not get both side to agreea terms but if Larry did not fancy the fight he could have vacated the title or as champion you have to take all comers.

FW didnt put this fight together but he knew Sky would like to see it and the way the Show fell apart in the last week or so its just as well he had this fight to put on.. FW is a Bussiness man and he has found out must sooner rather then later where he invested his money, which now we'l see how your looked after. As a Champion you do have to take on all Comer's, John's a very hard fight for an Experience Pro never mind a Novice one. You where in a catch 22 a Title comes up and every Boxer wants to be a Champion, you take the fight and win then your having to mix it with higher class and still inexperience, maybe in the lower weights it aint as bad as they dont Punch as hard but even a none pucher heavy weight 18 odd stone behind it you'l feel it. In your favour you can Punch :KO: So maybe the S-Area again when John Gives it up....

Frank can Guide Dallas in direction and i dont think it would be Big John so soon but if thats the Fight that Dallas wants then it would be Easy for frank to deliver. John wanted Larry and Larry leaving Frank to go with FW i can only imagine made it Sweeter........

It makes sence to me, the southern area is the next logical step for Tom Dallas he has another fight in march and then surely a crack at the title in the summer ? Am I the only one who see's the talent Tom has frank seems to put all the limelight on pricey and Dallas seems to be there as a back up if pricey doesn't make it (im sure Pricey will make it ) lets see Tom tested and who better than Big John this year

No, I believe as much in Tom Dallas as i do in David Price both guys have this last week be away getting good sparring that they could not get over here, But i have to work along with Tom manager who meets with me and we draw up his fight plan's. The fight i would like to make is Tom vs Big Larry and have spokening with FW matchmarker waiting to see what they say, You will see tom being move up after his next fight which is on a none TV show in kent. Then May 13 in London on the Sam Webb title show.

to me tom fighting larry is simular to frankie gavin fighting curtis woodhouse, they have mixed it with top amateurs for years and fighting a novice pro with a padded recorded is a step backwards !
