What's the point?

Post by Craig14 »

I've just seen this one in the schedule for tonight in Sheffield.
Nicki Smedley (12-0) v.s Bheki Moyo (0-20-1)
How is this even allowed?

Doesn't niki's dad post on here? I don't think even he could justify this.

How is a 12 fight novice supposed to compete with someone with 21 fights under his belt?

I don't like criticising boxers but the standard of opponents on Nicki's record is shocking. I understand new pro's need a few of these fights to get started but Smedley is 12 fights in and fighting a guy who is 0-20 is completely pointless.

Sorry lads , I am laughing at the thread & I shouldn't laugh at you horrible bastards! Beki has a good go. He's a nice lad. I've lost 3 times as much as moyo. And I still get work and put up a bit of a show. Have a heart

Lol! Look lads , he's on the road earning a pound note. I'm not saying he's a world beater, but a good journeyman can still test the boy. See, that lad needs to fight someone and winning boys just don't get tested till there ready . No one wants to lose the o , tv won't touch em. It can be shit but that's boxing. For the record , I can fight & so can some of these other lads.

After Smedley's Dad was on here arguing with Curtis Woodhouse it would be very interesting to see how he justifies this match.

Considering the circunstances, and being out for sometime it was as it turned out, a good match. Thought He Boxed well. Plus the guy came to Fight entertaining.

If you look into Moyo's record, it's obvious he isn't as bad as 0-21 would suggest. Seems like the journeyman who gives rounds and doesn't get stopped often. You would still like to see a 12-0 prospect taking on someone of a higher class though. Smedley really needs to step up now.

Moyo certainly doesn't want to lose his 0. :OhYes:

Joke aside, I get what your saying Johnny. If the prolific journeymen like yourself,Billy Smith, Scriven, etc. couldn't fight, you wouldn't be able to give rounds to and even win rounds against these up and coming prospects.

I fully understand what everyone is saying, and I agree with all what u say but running up to this show nicki had 7 different opponents swap and change then 2 days before he had no opponent, then he was boxing danny dontchev who just boxed karl place,so we were relieved he had a fight,as he had done plenty of tickets, thursday morning he was now not boxing anyone again,so everyone was ringing everywhere just to get some one, after a sleepless night I woke up friday morning and was walkin round to nickis house to tell him he's not on after 6 weeks of training and gettin down in weight. When I got a call to say someone will help out and it was him, when I looked at his record my heart sunk, but I got to his house and told him he said f------ ell , I told him its better than not boxing and we needed him out after 8 months of inactivity, and I wanted him to do the rounds, yes I agree he didn't learn nothin but it got him out and shook off the cobwebs, the amount of shows this weekend was the reason

Danny Dontchev's record is hardly a shimmering one either.

Moyo comes to fight as do meself, thorpy , scriven , laight . Because we don't win often it doesn't mean we ain't a test. I've boxed many a lad with better records & given them a hard fight. The boy had opponents pulled out & Beki stepped in late. Were journeymen , for fornicate sake ,even if Beki deserved something out of it he wouldn't get it anyway .
