Shame about the Hatton fight! But Primetime will likely pick up Klitschko. As long as SKY show the Morales/Maidana card I won't complain!!

It's surprising Sky haven't got the Hatton fight. Given the dates they give Hatton and Smith spent time with De La Hoya recently (see Ringside thursday), I'm surprised this hasn't been sorted out.

After a promising start to the Smith reign at Sky, there's quite a few gripes building up.

Spend less on production/staff and more on getting the right fights please!

It does make you wonder Chambers. If Sky don't pick up Hatton-Alvarez, they can hardly use the 'we haven't got the budget' excuse and expect people to swallow it. Not after flying to Miami 'where the beautiful people hang out' to interview David Haye at a point where precisely nothing was happening in his career and then having a cosy sitdown with Oscar this week, which I hope will be revealing but, again, one will be left wondering 'why now?' if it turns out to be a kiss-arse homage hour and nothing more (and I hope that will not be the case because it will do no one any good). Add to that the 8- and 9-man commentary teams at recent Sky fights and it's hard not to form the conclusion that money which is being spent on the presentation of boxing is at the expense of boxing itself. Don't misunderstand me, I'm in favour of high quality boxing shows on TV, but not if the cost is the fans missing out on the fights they might expect to see.

On sky bet it says Hatton v Alvarez is on sky sports. But I not read it anywhere.

They should be showing Vitali next fight. Come on Adam please explain why you are not?

I would rather Ringside was in that gym every week, keep it simple instead of jetting out to America. It would be no issue with fans if HBO commentary was on Hatton fight, they dont have to go out there. Hatton has done so well and he's fighting a potential superstar this weekend.

They just don't get it, Glyn. What fans wants are FIGHTS. They want to see ALL the fights (OK, we all know that is not possible) and they want to see them live. I am pretty sure that the U.K. fans would rather have fights such as, say, Hozumi Hasegwa vs Jhonny Gonzalez live from Japan, than nine-man commentary teams and special features on David Haye in Miami (much as we all love David). Am I right or am I right?

I'd just like to say that Adam is doing absolutely everything that he possibly can to get as much boxing on Sky as he can.

The Ringside specials were all filmed in one exhausting, whistle stop tour of America - In less than a week they got one off shows with Haye in Miami, De La Hoya in L.A. and Hopkins in Philly, plus extensive filming with Amir Khan and some other bits and bobs. They are all big names, the kind that bring in casual fans to watch Ringside, hopefully they'll watch again. I wouldn't expect that the episodes worked out any more expensive than the usual shows. No studio, less editing, less camera men booked, no paid guests.

Regarding the extended teams at the shows, Saturday there was one studio guest, Jamie Moore at ringside and yes, Bob Mee joined the two commentators and I thought he really added something to the presentation. Adam is trying different things out, something that Glyn has long been calling for.

It's disappointing when Sky have the cameras there, but we don't see the fights. Respect to Gary Buckland, but I'd have rather watched Martin Concepcion getting knocked out (not that i've got anything against him).

yeah but people like to complain about stuff like that, and completely ignore that casual fans or even avid boxing fans such as myself are interested in such things.

Some people on this forum would prefer ringside to be adam smith in a cold darkened room reading out boxrec stats with no visuals. Hell lets turn it into a radio show on old medium wave.

You havent answered what most people want to know ed, is matt hatton going to be on saturday night? he's an uk fighter, been on numerous sky tv shows and is fighting an unbeaten and potential star of the sport for a world title, albeit controversially, it's still a world title fight.

Why not get rid of the cost of the studio at fights. Just present from ringside.

No news on Hatton-Alvarez is bad news
