Regardless of what people think I honestly believe Hennessy Sports and the man at the hel "Meaty" Mick Hennessy have done very well in the last few years - In recent times Hennessy has had a bad run of luck especially in securing a TV deal that the majority of boxing fans will watch. Then last weekend he had some bad losses but at least he can hold onto his flagship fighter Carl Froch.

I for one sincerely hopes that Mick makes a few signings here and there to support Froch and in addition I completely agree with Boxing News in that I also hope Hennessy gets a TV contract that his stable can show their skills.

Seems a shame what has happend to him,i can see him chucking it all in within a short while. I cant see him securing a tv deal as sky seems all sown up,no boxing on terristral tv so that only really leaves premier sports..

A tv deal is exactly what he needs to get himself back up there. He's been so unlucky recently losing Barker and Murray plus losing 2 british champs. Tough times for sure.

If Frochy was going to change promoters he would have done early in his career.

At every single stage of Froch's career - Hennessy has delivered and paid Froch very well for his services - thus there has never been a need for a change.

I have to say - I was not surprised at all at John Murray leaving the stable - however I am stunned at Barker going - reason being is there is an amazing loyalty between the fighters, managers and trainers within Hennessy Sports and Barkers manager Tony Simms and Hennessy are close friends and thus I must admit I raised my eyebrows at that one.

I will state again - British Boxing needs the likes of Hennessy Sports to provide competition for the likes of Matchroom, Hatton Promotions, Maloney Promotions and Mr Warren.

I agree, boxing will get back to the 70's and early 80's otherwise; a cartel.

The show at Wembley was a cracker - I can't see Mick Hennessey throwing the towel in - he deserves a TV break.

Not long ago when Hennessy was on Sky and then when he first got the ITV deal he was putting on the best domestic cards, he really seems a decent guy and likes to do things the proper way titles wise. I hope he gets a break soon TV wise.

I think Mick is responsible for an improvement of British boxing over recent years — he was the promoter who said no to the crappy titles of the day and concentrated on the traditional British, Commonwealth and European belts which have replaced them, thankfully. It's a cruel irony that he's ended up out of the TV mix and now has fighters leaving his stable. In my opinion, show for show in recent years, Hennessy has delivered more quality, and more consistently, than a couple of the promoters Sky currently has under contract. With the defeats and defections, this isn't a great time to be Mick Hennessy, but he's too innovative and enthusiastic to not be a major player in years to come. A lot of his current strength depends on Frochy not going down the self-promoted route. I have no idea how long or for how many fights their deal runs, but assume their relationship will continue for the duration of Super Six, at least. I hope it continues for longer.
